My mate George went from us tonight
Discussion
glad they are all home together now, brings some comfort to have them where they belong, these threads bring it all back, had a little tear reading all the lovely comments on this post. We have our 3 lovelies back with us, 2 left, cat is 12, our nali is 10, so hoping that we have a few more years with them, not sure if we could do it again, but as a lot of our clients say, until you have the empty house, you will never know what you are going to do next. Loving all the love and empathy being shared.

Well, life brings up some strange things!
When George went, Mrs Fox said 'No more, thats it' esp as she had just started on some Cancer treatment. Whilst i was a little bit saddened ant this, i accepted it.
Yesterday she said, lets leave it till the spring before looking for another dog
Not wishing to let her know i was jumping up and down with delight i just demurred and said ok
I felt as though Xmas and my birthday had come together

Sorry for your loss bud, he looked beautiful, completely majestic in that photo you posted. Looked like he had some wisdom he wanted to share. When George went, Mrs Fox said 'No more, thats it' esp as she had just started on some Cancer treatment. Good luck to your wife for the Cancer treatment!
Here's hoping Christmas & Spring comes early for you both .
Didnt expect or think I would contribute to such a post but my best mate and copilot Mutley the rescue rottie left us this week, never saw it coming but with hind sight maybe there were some signs of weight loss and slowing. It wouldn't have made any difference in the long run as a cancer was eating at the wall of his stomach, and then perforated. I would like to give my thanks to Scott Kilpatrick and team from Vetsnow in Glasgow, enabled me to make the choice quickly to come home and end the pain, Such an empty world for us and our other dogs. Love them when you can.
Silverfoxcc - Hope everything works out OK with your wife. Good nes about George’s successor.
The Vet - Sorry to read about Mutley. He was a handsome chap.
I would also like to thank you, Bex and all the other professionals who come on here and give their advice. This is truly the best place in Pistonheads.
RIP Mutley

Really sorry to hear of your loss OP. We lost our own George some five years ago, and all I will say is that it does get easier.
At some point, you think of them and the good times are what you remember, rather than the fact they are no longer with you.
We've had a new four legged friend in our lives for a while now, but we'll always remember George - as will you. And that's the way it should be.
