Porsche Taycan
Discussion
Has anyone got a deposit down for one? I have asked a few dealers who last year asked me to email a letter of intent which I did ages back but had nothing come back. Been reading in other places that some people have deposits down etc
I am hearing that order books open in September but I guess it will be another case of Porsche giving their best customers first cars who will flip for a £25k profit.

I put a pre-order in with Leeds OPC and they took a £1k deposit in February. However, I believe there were 50+ in the queue in front of me just at Leeds. I've been told to expect a car no earlier than the back end of 2020.
I am going to Frankfurt in September to see the launch, can't wait to see what the car looks like after seeing all the prototype videos.

Thats really strange as all the dealers around London are saying they can't take a deposit until September!
I do hate dealing with Porsche dealers!
That may be the case with all OPC's now, as demand has been beyond Porche's expectations. They may have instructed all dealers to stop taking pre-orders.I do hate dealing with Porsche dealers!
It wasn't long ago that Porsche were bragging about all the pre-orders they'd already taken on the Taycan.

Like vw, a never ending train of teasers and press releases where are the cars...
As someone on the Model 3 waiting list I would like to counter with, how long since M3 reservations opened before I get my car? If I could afford it I would have a reservation in for the Taycan, it will be stunning inside and out.PMacanGTS said:
Can't wait for Frankfurt in September to finally see the production model.
I'm working on the JLR stand right now, and will be there on press day. I will be heading over to Porsche to take a little looksie Company car tax to zero for full EV's as of April next year - that makes the Taycan even more of a bargain than it's expected price tag already makes it. Finally, a proper driver focused performance EV that doesn't cost crazy money.
Unless when I see it in the flesh there is something hideously wrong with it (like it smells of cabbage, or is only available in pink... or has seats made of fish..) then it's hard to imagine me not putting my name down at the first opportunity. I was looking at a Tesla Model S LP, but despite it's crazt acceleration I just know that won't be as true a drivers car as anything else i have owned. The Porsche on the other hand... it might not be their finest drivers car but it will undoubtedly be a drivers car.
Interesting that there's no real waiting list. I guess the market for cars in this price bracket just isn't enough to generate one. Or to put it a different way, the profit margins on such cars are high enough that Porsche can afford to pay over the odds for cells and hence "jump the queue".
