Meg has discovered her inner Lab and has now decided she likes pond swimming. This is her sad face when being informed it is now bath time.

I just want to say to everyone, thank you for making this the best thread on PH. Every dog in this thread so evidently has such character and its owner such stories to tell.
Until recently, I was never a dog person. I never grew up around any dogs, and didn't really know anything about "having" them until my partner's dad got a Golden Retriever a couple of years ago and we got stuck with helping them look after it and whatnot.
Last August, we got Coco. And I cannot imagine my life without her. Or dogs in general. She eats poo and very occasionally pees on the kitchen floor overnight, but I love her more than life itself.
Here she is with said Golden. She's probably sad because we told them both to calm their t*ts.
And "when are you going to throw these balls for me, dad?"
An excellent post, and a lovely looking chocco lab!!! Until recently, I was never a dog person. I see most folk have their dogs collars on.
Am I the only one who puts them on when they’re going out?
Much prefer the look of them without
All my dogs (including the current lot) have always had collars on 24/7. I've never thought about how they look with/without.Am I the only one who puts them on when they’re going out?

Just this morning I found a stray dog running loose in the lane outside our house. No collar/tag; therefore couldn't return it home. Had to take it to the vets where they could scan it for a microchip.

Same thing, in the small, instance that they do get out and fancy not coming back any time soon and are found, it is far easier for me to be reunited with them; just ring the number on the tag, as opposed to having to be taken to a vet and scanned.
Had this discussion with my eldest as her 2 Pugs don't wear collars indoors and she does forget to out a collar on when they go for a walk sometimes, she just couldn't see the benefit of them wearing one all the time, even when I explained that if one does do a dissappearing act then she would be reunited with it quicker, "oh they can just be taken to the vet, be scanned and the vet will call me". Just didn't get it!
