Cat 1, Bailey, rag doll: grinds his teeth when hungry, will kick his front feet with his back ones when he’s ‘having a moment’, full on headbutts you for attention, shouts at you through the window for having the temerity to go outside (indoor cats), does a front leg paddling thing on the ground before drinking from the water bowl (no matter what the age of the water). If you walk into a room, Bailey will stop walking and literally freeze, staring at you. This is then a staring match until someone breaks contact.

Cat 2, Mocha, his sister: literally shouts at you at any given opportunity, will try to sit in the fridge / freezer if the doors open, plays fetch, will force you to make a circle of your arms on the table and then sit in it

Both get hangry. Both insist on sitting on the top of chair backs.
Can’t believe I forgot this one as we got a full exhibition of it today.

Mocha also has a thing for glue / Velcro / nylon school bags. She’ll lick them, and then she’ll be sick. Today it was a Sellotape roll that she licked, then within 5mins started jacking that tell tale yowl and smacking of the chops to signify ‘incoming’.

Quick vomit in the utility room then back to demanding tea. Feckin cat!!

Tigerlily does not wrap around our feet at all. All my previous cats have done, so not sure why she doesn’t.

She is my cat until 9am and then transfers her allegiance to my wife. In the evening she is just a tart and will go to either for attention.

We love her to bits though

Our Collie is very noise sensitive so odd behaviour mainly around strange sounds. Possibly weirdest is that he goes nuts if he hears an evil laugh. Not sure why but at one point I did the evil “muwahaha” type laugh (I think an impression but now not even sure from which film) and he started barking and getting very excited. As proved on many occasions since he really doesn’t like it. But can’t work out why.

Another one is opening the patio doors. There are some latches and for some reason the sound drives him nuts. His hearing is so acute. He was downstairs and I tried flipping the latch as slowly and quietly as possible (my head was next to it and I couldn’t really hear anything),
yet next second he came bounding up the stairs so not only had he heard it but had recognised the sound too.

One of our cats loves milk, so we get cat milk for him. Every evening 8pm the campaign starts. The times he does get it, if there’s a bubble in the bowl of milk, he’ll back away and look up expecting the bubble to be burst for him. Won’t touch it until the bubble has gone!

A previous cat was exceptionally proud of her hunting ability, of carrier bags. Trotted up to the patio doors on several occasions looking pleased with herself with a supermarket bag being dragged along.

One of my cats loves batting the cat flat with his paw. He’ll do it dozens of times before either going through it or walking away. Daft bugger.

When on the beach with our Cairn Terrier with a ball, he obviously doesn't like it been too dirty or sandy, so will dunk it in the sea and spin it with his paw or nose to wash off the sand.......

When my father takes his two dogs out (using the car to drive to the local woods etc) he lets them out the front door and they run to the the back of the car and wait excitedly for him to open the tailgate.

Once my father arrives at the back of the car and opens the tailgate the larger dog then always runs clockwise around the car before jumping in - never goes straight in.

He is a herding/guarding breed so this may have something to do with it..... or he may just be radio-rental, which is much more likely.

The other weird cat one is she will absolutely not get on my OHs lap despite her bringing her up (before she met me). She feeds her, looks after her, everything.
Yet when I come home from work she paces around eyeing me up until I sit down in my chair and get my feet up. She then jumps on and lies out on my lap and watches TV. That's another thing she's learned to love as she's got older - the TV, especially nature programs. Gardeners World, Winter watch, farming programs etc. I've never known an animal patiently watch something on telly for as long as she does, she genuinely enjoys watching it.
Our cat does that, I have nothing to do with it, the wife feeds him, pets him, etc but he won’t sit on her, only me. Like to watch football too.

He sits in some funny positions too.

Our dog Nancy is a collie/spaniel cross. Very intelligent and quite high maintenance at times. When we first picked her up from the rescue centre she was quite happy to get in the car but not so sure about travelling etiquette:

Thankfully she now travels the right way up.

Our other dog Mott, has the interesting 'habit' when pooing of spinning round on the spot whilst assuming the position then stops, and repeatedly thumps his left foot on the ground (like a kangaroo) whilst pumping one out. Sorry no photos (and no he isn't constipated just a bit special).

That made me chuckle. They have funny habits, our old dog shouldn’t curl one up if anyone was watching, you had to turn your back to give her a bit of privacy.

Our Staff, Ella, loves to be on the sofa or bed with one or both of us. However, once shes had a quick fuss, her favourite spot is to curl up in the V shape made by my legs.

I guess she feels secure when she has the "wall" of me on one side and the sofa on the other ..

Ours does that. He'll press it with his paw until it unlocks then wait until it locks again then the 'game' starts again. I swear the batteries in the cat flap would last three times as long if he didn't do it!

In the morning he'll jump on me in bed, tap my head with his paw or scratch my ear, I assume signaling he wants to be fed even though it is my partner who gets up first and actually feeds him. She also gets annoyed that he'll only sit on my lap too.

Stella loves nothing more than her little yellow ball.
She will entertain herself batting it from paw to paw and chasing after it when it gets away. She also loves to chase it when it's rolled (preferred) or thrown for her. Even better, she teases me by dropping the ball waiting for me to pick it up, then snatching it away before I get there. She'll keep that up forever, until I get bored at which point she gets sulky when I give up and walk on. She'll run ahead only to stop just in front of me to start all over again. Maybe one in ten she'll let me take the ball and launch it for her to chase.
Bloody aggravating, but quite endearing too as she looks so pleased with herself when she beats me to it.
She has me well trained. I'm a good boy.

Our dog often draws a circle when she has a wee.

It's like she starts to go and is then surprised by the smell, so rotates 180 degrees to sniff it. But she's still weeing and ends up drawing a circle of piss.

My cat will stand up on her hind legs to head nudge a proffered hand. Every cat I meet I try the same as I'm sure it can't be that unusual, but nothing yet! (not that I meet a lot of cats, but squirrels don't even try either tongue out)
Yup one of our cats does this.. She will stand on her hind legs for several seconds rubbing her head off your hand...
