The in laws dog turns 11 today, good old age for a Rotty!
We thought it was her time 2 weeks ago but she's going strong.
Happy birthday Sparky.

Poor Oscar has suffered from recurring ear issues for ages, his left ear being particularly bad. So much so that he wouldn't let you near it frown.

After talking it over with the vets we decided to go with a GA that was booked in for this morning.

He had the ear cleaned thoroughly (they said it was badly inflamed) and most likely yeast infection but have sent it off for testing so we know exactly what is causing it and can then work out a plan to stop it happening again.

He had a long lasting steroid gel applied that lasts 4 weeks so fingers crossed he should feel the effects in the next few days.

Poor boy is absolutely pooped and hasn't moved off the sofa since he got back this afternoon

Get well soon Oscar!

The GA really does take it out of dogs. Here is Freddie after his GA earlier this year…

Shame frown

Both our labs are prone to ears getting gunked up, and a regular dose of this stuff seems to help ease the irritation, as well as the root cause

Seems to be hard to find in the UK, but we get my brother to post it to us from Florida.

Otto had a whale of a time at the weekend. 45min swimming and fetching.

He's not a retriever, and I do it with him for impulse control (he's not allowed to go until he makes eye contact) and emergency stop.
