Thanks, he’s a Beagle/Collie mix and 11 years this Summer. Slowing down a bit and spoiled as we have both worked from home since he came to us at 2 months so a bit clingy. We were warned off the breed but he’s been pretty awesome and even has good recall.where do they find the energy.
Frankie and her same age mate Ginny had a lovely time chasing and play fighting until 10 minutes ago, this was just after the umpteenth spell in the stream, two wet tired dogs now, Frankie just had her 3rd dinner and will sleep well tonight once she dries out.

Blimey that rug needs hoovering, the dog is a hair factory.

It's great when they play like this, I'm very much hoping that my best mate's Macedonian rescue and my recent new arrival will be like this once they have spent time together. Initial acquaintance on the beach on Sunday was promising, which is fortunate as we were already booked to go away to a cottage, for a week long holiday as a group with their dog, before Hunter somewhat unexpectedly arrived on the scene! What with us spending our lives doing canicross I’d always told Summer we would do a marathon. Training was going well back when we were in our prime then I properly borked my ankle, life got in the way then Summer got too old.
Finally fulfilled that promise at the weekend.
I managed to find a marathon that was perfect for it, she would have loved the course. Start and finish was on the beach we took her to for her first holiday and birthdays, and the route went through various places that we often walked or went for fish n chips while we were down there and part of it covered the same ground as a 15mile race we won 10 years ago.
Fairly high effort for my first marathon, with it actually being 27.5 miles and having 950m of elevation gain along the way (more than climbing Snowdon). But we made it.
Had Summers harness, collar tag and some of her fur with me
Run went up through the field and car park where we had our last fish n chips on her 15th birthday.
From that last race we did there
And this one
Got a little emotional at times but well worth it.
Took her off my back and held her in front for the finish as that is where she would have been

We have one of those! She will be 14 this year and is starting to slow down a bit now. Incredibly stubborn, very intelligent (except for when she's being a idiot
