The people he came from had both (claimed) parent dogs and both were clearly Jack Russell. The Mother was a long-legged rough coated and the Father a long-haired, short legged, both with prick ears, the Father had the same over-sized ears as Pip. There were 4 in the litter, the other 3 had classic JRT random/patchwork colouring whereas his colouring is perfectly symmetrical though he was almost blue coloured when we first met him.
However, as he grew and his legs got longer, body sleeker and we noticed how he runs, not just the speed but the gait, we started to wonder exactly what he is? - When we picked him up I had noticed that they had a (male) Lurcher in an outside kennel -

When we first took him to the Vet for vaccines etc. they asked if he was some kind of 'Wolf-dog' and people often ask if he is a German Shepherd puppy/miniature or similar?
He is really small though - only weighs 6kg but there is definitely something different in him making him unique.
But, whatever his lineage he is 100% Jack Russell temperament.

She was about 8.5Kg and mainly composed of leg muscle. She could jump about 6ft and ran with a double suspension gait when up to full speed.

Have we seen Pip before? What is he, he is gorgeous!

For many reasons, we call him the 'Gypsy Prince' and have thought about getting him a gold medallion or a flashing bow-tie.Konan said:
Misty was supposed to be a JRT cross Poodle. First (accidental) cross, so a mongrel really but I'm not sure that it would've been pure JRT. Possibly a Parson's but I strongly suspect there was Bedlington in there.

Yes, that's how he runs - like a Racehorse/Cheetah and he often sits on quite high window sills, jumping up like a cat.She was about 8.5Kg and mainly composed of leg muscle. She could jump about 6ft and ran with a double suspension gait when up to full speed.

Happy 1st Birthday!
Where has that time gone?!?!Can we have an earlier pic for comparison purposes please? I remember her being teeny-tiny?
ETA - sorry, hadn't seen the photo above, but could we have one of her in the kitchen if you have one?

When I read about these poor dogs passing away, I feel a little uncomfortable posting about little successes in Reggie’s recovery.
Thanks MoorX for the nudge. Happy to report progress is all positive. The video below was taken at the end of last week to send to the vet. Since, he is getting stronger by the day: still quite wobbly and left leg appears stronger than the right (result of the spinal damage I think) but the real win in the incontinence seems almost history.
He remains dry at night. He still wears a nappy band and is still confined to his cage but he leaps out in the morning and immediately outside for a massive wee! He crouches rather than cocks a leg…
Pooping is tricky as he struggles to hold balance to complete the evolution.
But see the video! Never did I imagine we would be here this quickly! He remains confined to barracks, but he is out of danger I think!
