Walking dogs off lead, why?

Countdown, I’m usually of the same opinion as you. Posting this with no comment I’m afraid makes me think differently. On this occasion.
You’re just using a video to further your stance.
I could post something about two thugs in West Drayton.
My two dogs can be a little reactive when around dogs they don’t know. Therefore if I see dogs I’m not familiar with they are kept on the lead.
Common courtesy is for the other person to a stick their dog on a lead, or ask if they should or not.
Mine will just bark, especially the springer as he is nervous around other dogs. I don’t see why people are getting so funny about it.

One has to ask why an owner would want an intimidating dog - is it so they can look hard?
A glance at the posts by owners boasting that their dogs will rip other dogs to shreds will answer that oneto be blunt idiots!!!!! you have completely missed the point. There is no more an aggressive bone in any of my three dogs than in any of yours. However if your stupid little mutt runs up to my three, panics and has an aggressive fear reaction, it will end badly. Because your dog being in my three dogs space is not welcome.. However if your dog doesn't st itself and try to lash out, nothing much happens.
So back to the original post - KEEP YOUR fkING DOGS ON A LEAD AND AWAY FROM OTHER DOGS WHO DO NOT WANT THEM NEAR THEM AND GUESS WHAT, NOTHING BAD HAPPENS.
As long as EVERYONE knows in advance what are accepted ways to behave around this person and their three dogs, no harm will come to you, or your dogs.
STICK TO THE RULES, OR BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN YOU IDIOTS!!!
This behavioural contravention might occur during social activities that the other 99% of the population find normal acceptable behaviour though, so be warned.
He is not the one who is rudely allowing his dog(s) to approach unknown dogs who are on their leads, blissfully ignorant of canine psychology..
My dogs were placid, well socialised, with good recall, but were always returned to their lead when encountering unknown dogs/people. As Challo says above, it is just common courtesy.

while a woman affiliated with the other dog says: "He's never done that, ever."
It made me think of some posters on this thread who are adamant that their dog is under their full control and would never harm a fly. The reality is that nobody ever knows for sure how their dog is going to behave.Funny how this thread came up just got back from a lovely week in Cornwall and before I start I am not anti dog have owned in the past but sadly no more but anyway reason for post was whilst on the beach plenty of dogs running about enjoying themselves a couple of ladies had around 6 dogs between them but the thing that annoyed me was whilst we were messing about in the water i noticed they had completely no control over these dogs and at one point they were all rummaging around my beach tent messing up my towels and generally being a nuisance it was when one of them decided to cock its leg and piss up my tent and one of our beach bags I was coming out of the water and trying to shoo them away whilst the two women completely oblivious and to be honest didnt give a st to be honest I was that close to going up to them and telling them when I need a piss I am coming over and pissing up there bloody tent

And, breathe. Leave some Huskies and Rottweilers in your tent, that'll show them who's boss.Stev8s said:

Completely out of order and you had every right to be angry! I have a dog and he is off lead mostly but I like to think I am a polite person l, unlike the women you have encountered! Shame I’ve got a 7 month old Whippet, friendly as anything but not great with recall yet. My normal walk is over some fields near me where I rarely see anyone and if I do they usually have a dog off lead themselves, so my dog stays off the lead. If I see someone without a dog or with a dog in the lead I will always put mine on his lead, however yesterday I wasn’t quick enough and he went running up to a woman who did appreciate it. Fair enough, I apologised profusely and put him straight on a lead. That was enough for her, she wanted an argument about it which I wasn’t interested in. Even when she shouting “fk you” as she walked away from me. Very over the top unnecessary reaction from a “lady” in her 50s.
Today I went to a different field where there are often other dogs off the lead, as was there case today. Woman had her scrappy little thing off the lead throwing a ball for him so mine was doing likewise. My dog naturally ran over to say hello at which point she quickly out her dog on a lead and started having a go at me for letting my dog run up to her because hers “isn’t very friendly to other dogs”. So now I have to put my dog in a lead because yours has never been properly socialised?
Luckily a few minutes later I met another couple who were more than happy to let my pup play with theirs off lead as we did a circuit of the field. Certainly restored my faith in people after 2 pretty negative and unexpected responses.

That's fking disgusting. They shouldn't even be on beaches at this time of year, not round here anyway. Have you seen the excrement and other waste people leave on beaches. Dirty people are all around us. You couldn't breath fresh air on Bournemouth beach because of the piles of human st behind the beach huts. I agree that dog sts not nice but human waste blows it out of all proportion. We really are a ascuumy lot.
Visit a beauty spot after a hot day and what will you find, human trash from scummy people. it won't biodegrade either. And breath :-)
Sure dogs do the natural thing but we're far scummier except we get outraged, lol.
The owners should clear up behind their dogs. I agree totally but people leave far more trash. We need to take a look at ourselves because it's not dogs that are stting on the planet. It's us.

The exceptionally long thread over making a fairly straight forward statement has hopefully come to a close.

If by "it's us" you mean dog owners who don't clean up after their dog then yes, agree. I've never st somewhere I shouldn't so it's definitely a new one on me. Never been to Bournemouth beach and just decided I never will. Visit a beauty spot after a hot day and what will you find, human trash from scummy people. it won't biodegrade either. And breath :-)

Went for a ride on local trails earlier and just as I dodged an absolutely enormous fly laden turd I narrowly missed a poo bag hanging right above it from a branch. Couldn't make it up. Almost laughed.
