Not quite what you wrote though, is it. You claimed your dog could best almost any dog, and how intimidating it is. I simply introduced one of several breeds that debunks your theory. Thankfully I don't feel the need to post some macho twaddle about what my dog could do either.
Macho twaddle?? I think you need to get a life apart from the keyboard. Goodbye

No worries. Walking 3 Huskies is a problem waiting to happen IMO.
whys that?
One slipped it's collar yesterday, and ran 100 yards to try and pick a fight with my dog. Fortunately I managed grab it by the scruff as tried to go past me. One hand holding the lead of my dog, one hand scruffing the Husky, you do the maths.

There are some serious ego's in play. You need to take on Spoonies huskys. They'd give your dog the scragging of it's life. One after the other :-) Unless of course you could hold all 3 of them one handed.

Actually no, I’m off to see a sick cow as I’m on call tonight, perhaps you could do something useful apart from being unpleasant

I like Rotties, and in my experience they are usually pretty mild mannered. But if I was you I wouldn't be making statements about what my dog could do. I considered rehoming a male Caucasian Shepherd a few years ago, but decided the breed could be over protective. That was a much more intimidating breed IMO.
Thankfully you are not me, and I said simply what a big dog can do if it went wrong. It does not matter which is the more intimidating breed, it matters the nature of the individual, from chihuahua to st bernard. Last dog to bite me was a rottie, but my two have been superb family dogs.

I think you have to be something kind of stupid to not understand that a number of dog breeds are coherently dangerous in certain circumstances.

All the vet was doing was pointing out the exact same thing I have been.

Off lead dogs coming near on lead dogs can end in a bad situation.

Ps I can hold all three one handed, whilst poking your dog in it's eye.

PPS my dogs not harder than your dog, that's why I have 3.

Ppps. The vet doesn't need to inflate med prices. I'll do that just fine down here.

So the 10yr old killed by dog thread is filled with dog owners claims that there are no bad dogs, only bad owners. Hmmm. Yet in this thread we have dog owners claiming - sorry - confirming - that their dogs are intimidating and can rip other dogs to pieces etc. So there are in fact bad dogs as well as bad owners. And dog owners wonder why folks are intimidated by dogs?

Perhaps those owners are just confirming that they're bad owners?

Well, intimidating dogs are intimidating dogs. One has to ask why an owner would want an intimidating dog - is it so they can look hard? Personal protection?

A glance at the posts by owners boasting that their dogs will rip other dogs to shreds will answer that one

Its so i can beat them with pictures of you two to make sure you get it first.

to be blunt idiots!!!!! you have completely missed the point. There is no more an aggressive bone in any of my three dogs than in any of yours. However if your stupid little mutt runs up to my three, panics and has an aggressive fear reaction, it will end badly. Because your dog being in my three dogs space is not welcome.. However if your dog doesn't st itself and try to lash out, nothing much happens.

So back to the original post - KEEP YOUR fkING DOGS ON A LEAD AND AWAY FROM OTHER DOGS WHO DO NOT WANT THEM NEAR THEM AND GUESS WHAT, NOTHING BAD HAPPENS.

I don't have a dog. I was asking why anyone would want an aggressive or intimidating looking dog. But you have, sort of, answered the question for me, in a way.

Large dogs can look intimidating, but often aren’t. Great Danes for example are huge. But unless you are a deer running away, the you have nothing to worry about. So just because a dog ‘looks intimidating’ doesn’t make it so.

Plenty of folks like the looks or temperament of large, powerful dogs. Just like some people like powerful loud cars that look intimidating.

You like BMWs what’s with the grills? Only about projection right? can be the same with some dog owners.

Ah, but they are only aggressive and dangerous if other people or pets behave in a certain manner around them!
As long as EVERYONE knows in advance what are accepted ways to behave around this person and their three dogs, no harm will come to you, or your dogs.
STICK TO THE RULES, OR BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN YOU IDIOTS!!!

This behavioural contravention might occur during social activities that the other 99% of the population find normal acceptable behaviour though, so be warned.
