So what is your pet worth to you?

I had a conversation with a mate the other night, At what price would you sell your pet? My mate said he would sell his Jack russell for £10,000,000 not a penny less, where as I said I would not sell any of mine 2 rabbits, 2 cats and a labradoodle for any price.

So what price do you put on your pets head?

He's priceless. Wouldn't be for sale under ANY circumstances, and even thinking about life without him is messing my head up. A pet is for life, IMO.

I was offered a blank cheque for one of my dogs a few years ago. This was from a Portugese guest of Revlon cosmetics.

I declined. He couldn't understand.

Agreed. Money can't buy you everything. I think he thought it could.
I did say a few years ago. My wage at the time was £70 per week! Which baffled him even more.

I would have agreed a price, then said I needed a day or two to say goodbye to it properly etc. Then just go out and buy one that looks just like it.

Give him the new dog you're not attached to and cash in!

I couldn't even begin to think of selling my pets.

I'd have to have free access to visit them if I did and would really have to trust the people who took them on! So no I don't see a price ever being worth that.

None of my pets would be for sale under any circumstances, ever. For any price. The o/h on the other hand can be yours for 50p and a packet of French fancys

I would pay someone to take my old Persian at the moment, she is becoming old, grumpy and keeps forgetting where the cat tray is!
Or swapsies for something younger and boisterous to stand up to our other cat

No I don't think my pets would be for sale. Not even the fish.

It did cross my mind. But she was fully trained and that takes 18 months by which time you get attached. If you don't get attached you can't train them.
It's very much a two way process.

Even though I've only had my Chihuahua a year, I couldn't ever imagine being without her.

When I went on holiday recently for a week in the sun, my phone bill was doubled as I was ringing every night to make sure she was ok.

I've also got 2 Maine Coon cats which I regret having done as I've been asked many times if I would breed from them.

Beautiful cats!
We have a Pug. It was a present from the Mrs for my birthday...which I had to pay 500 notes for. Given that he was taken from a sh!t-hole of a farm he needed a bit of treatment. About a grand later he's all well and good. Then we find out that it will cost us 5000 to fly him 'home' with us, when we leave here. So, he's cost us a bit but we love him to death. He is such a charactor who farts, snores like you wouldn't believe, dreams including barking, and is generally a naughty puppy.
We wouldn't be without him and would never let him go, no matter what. I'm smiling just thinking about the little fella!
