Assume you have booked at the Plough.
When, what time of year?
Settle Carlise is worth the ride.
Are you up for a walk?
Some good places to eat locally including the Plough.
Some good driving roads to see the sights.

Excellent guess! yes the plough, looking for good roads and spectacular scenery. Anything you can recommend? Happy to walk, drive or sit on a train. The missus might want to do some sight seeing in the shops, but hopefully not!! So places to avoid would also be good smile

Some really good little roads in that area, nice run up to Dunsop bridge and beyond to Lancaster, trough of bowland is nice on a sunny day this time of year. Also a nice run up to Ribblehead viaduct (a must) and beyond over to Hawes, one of my favourite runs.. If your into mountain biking or indeed walking Gisburn forest has miles of tracks and purposely made trails. Park at the dog and partridge in tosside do a lap of the forest and back for lunch ( decent grub)

Avoid the shops in skipton and settle lovely towns to wander around but she will spend all your petrol money wink

A trip up to Castle Bolton is worth the views and you can visit some of the best Dales villages.
If the weather is wet Skipton Castle is undercover.
Rushee in Settle is highly recommended for a curry, take your own booze, shops locally sell chilled lagers wines so no need to drink warm beer.
The Maypole in Long Preston is a typical pub with good grub, Ravernous in Settle is a good restaurant.
Roads in and out of Malham have good views and walks around the cove.

If all else fails take the OH to Boundary Mills shopping but this act will double the cost of your weekend in one go!

When are you visiting.
