The SS Great Britain in Bristol is well worth a visit. Brunel's revolutionary steamer is very well presented indeed. If you have a poke around there's a rather incongruous old RR Olympus engine stuck in a corner too.

Tyntesfield is very cool.

Castle Combe - come for the chocolate box village, stay for the racing circuit.

Was there in June, great place, great cars and really relaxed. The toilets were outside in portacabins but were the best temporary toilets I've ever been in! Ask about gift aid because this means you can go back for free within a year if you decide to go a second time, or give it to someone else going in the year.

Wells is stunning. I'm not normally into all that stuff but Wells Cathedral is amazing.

Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge is a bit expensive but there are some nice places to eat around Cheddar Gorge there and not forgetting the nice cheese! Glastonbury is full of hippy types with baggy jumpers and a funny smell. If you actually believe in witchcraft and stuff you'll love it, if you are normal you'll think it's funny. Did have a nice lunch there in a tiny tea shop there though, the same place a rough family left because they didn't have white bread.

Lulworth, call in at The Smugglers, just along the coast.
A stunning coast line to rival anywhere.

There's also the Tank Museum at Bovington. It's really close to Monkey World too, near Weymouth. A good day out if you like tanks and monkeys.

If you fancy part of your road trip in a sports car, I hire them out and were not from from the Haynes museum, Cheddar etc. just working on a nice route to Cheddar to program into the sat nav!

Thanks all, 700 mile road trip complete!

Vehicle of choice:

On the way down stumbled over a building site, looks like it might be nice when finished!

Visited some more old stones;

Was en route to look at Kingsdon Inn, when stumbled over Somerton

Next day Haynes, sublime!!

Even saw this area with no brides!

Was going to look at Tyntesfield, but went south instead

Visited a few other places, stayed at Wimborne, stinky hot curry!

On the way home visited a few mores places

A great trip!!
