I found this on another forum. Horrible to see but I hope the car can be recovered the way it came from the factory.

Sucks so bad. Let's hope everyone was ok.

Tried to get on the list and wished I ordered on after Geneva.

Which GT4 forum?

I wouldn't let any friend drive my pride and joy,no matter how good a friend they are, especially with the weather as it is,and how long it would take to get another GT4, that's if you can get a new one.

Feel really gutted for the owner, but hopefully nobody injured.

I'd normally agree with Luke; it's just a car - who cares! However, unless he had the car insured for market value, he ain't getting another unless he is happy to pay a premimum.

I would have thought it would be a good car to buy back from the insurance company and repair, yes/no?

How much were these new and what is the current price for one with say sub 5,000 miles?

Yer why didn't I think of that.... Smash my pride and joy up with my mate at the wheel for the premium or I could have just sold it!!!! Blindingly obvious I'm annoyed with myself I didn't spot that!!!!

Poor attempt at levity and your mate needs driving lessons!

It does beg the question whether the 'mate' was fully comprehensive and named on the policy rather than relying on his own with TP liability

I would and have. Including on track days. The same friend has let me drive his cars. The caveat being that I know that the friend has the experience of such cars and applies the same level of mechanical sympathy and judgement of conditions that I do myself. If an incident occurs when they are driving I would be content knowing that it could well have been the same if I was in the driver's seat.

Not necessarily - my policy covers me to drive ANY car fully comp and also any driver (over 30) to drive mine. Admittedly not for track use and quite expensive at £1,600 per year

I'd love to know that too, I did ask at the start of the thread whether it was a single car accident or not.
It either looks like they collected the scenery or on coming traffic with under steer or a car coming the other way came into them.
Your guess is as good as mine.
