Things to do between Barcelona & Valencia
Discussion
Happy B/H all,
We're off to a wedding in Valencia end of may. We're flying into Barcelona and driving down. It's only a 3 hour drive but we're arriving on the Wednesday for the wedding on the Friday & Saturday. So it would be nice to find somewhere to stay beforehand / after between the 2 destinations.
Any advice will be greatly received.

I haven't done that route but having toured Spain a couple of times my advice would be head inland, follow my nose and pick up some scenic twisty roads.
Eg Bcl - Lleida - Alcaniz - Teruel - Val.
Look out for small guesthouses on your proposed route and you'll have a lovely little trip getting off the beaten path.

Above sounds good.
Years ago before the AP7 was open I used to use the n340 once south of Barcelona.
Used to love this route in the wagon, passed through plenty of nice towns on the way towards Valencia and spent a fair bit of time on this route running right by the sea.
There are plenty of random places to stop along this route for a spot of lunch, dinner etc.
Cracking 1 at Cambrils, and this is near the big theme park Port Aventura World which now has Ferrari world if that's your sort of thing?
Bit further along you will pass Castellon de la Plana which has a huge tile and ceramic industry, it was big enough in the 90's when I first started but these days the sheer size of it is pretty impressive.
Haven't been this route for a few years now but have always said I'd do a road trip in the future using the old n340.
