I am going in September to get married.

I've booked the 'Best Bang for Your Buck Experience for Two' at the Gun Garage via Groupon.

$299 for a Best Bang for Your Buck experience for two people ($479.95 value)
•One belt in a M249 SAW .223/5.56x45mm machine gun
•One belt in a 1919.308/7.62x51mm machine gun
•Two magazines in an UZI 9mm submachine gun
•Two magazines in a M4 .223/5.56x45mm machine gun
•Two magazines in an AK-47 7.62x39 machine gun
•Two magazines in a Desert Eagle 44 Magnum pistol
•Two magazines in a SCAR .223/5.56x45mm machine gun
•Two magazines in a Thompson “Tommy gun” 45ACP submachine gun
•Two magazines in a Krinkov “Baby” AK .223/5.56x45mm machine gun
•Four custom B-27 targets

There is resident DJ's there all year round if that is your thing.

We were there 2 years ago and did the helicopter to Grand Canyon which was great but also did a track day event with a company called Dream Racing. Fantastic experience, great location and F16's flying overhead whilst I drove the track - 10/10 for me that day !!

Try Gordon Ramsay Pub inside Ceasars palace...we had a couple of drinks and some food and it was really great. Ordered Scotch Egg's and couple of other things. No one else had a clue what a scotch egg was but 30 minutes later the place is full of America's ordering scotch eggs...great night smile

Slightly cheesy but the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris Las Vegas is pretty good and has the best views of the Bellagio fountains.
We tried it purely out of curiosity when we honeymooned in LV....turned out to be the best all round meal of the week.
Would also recommend some shooting. O is very good too, surreal but very good,

Hello again

The Hmoon is rapidly approaching, we've booked our flight with Maverick, cannot wait. Also booked in to see O at the Belagio.

We're staying at the Luxor, and I've just stumbled across the 20 dollar trick. Anybody had any recent success with this?

Cheers

O is excellent. Make sure you dont have 'wet seats'. For a cheapish meal before the Noodle bar at Bellagio is excellent.

Another vote for BFV; went last September and shot all manner of machine guns, pistols, M249 SAW and a Barret .50 for about $300 or thereabouts. Guy next to me lit off the minigun for 100rds whilst I was shooting and it sounded like the gates of hell opening up, for all of the 1.5 seconds it took to get rid of 100rds.

Excellent fun.

Also hired Harleys from Eagle Rider, went through Valley of Fire which is excellent in a car or a bike.

Thanks for the replies.

We're not interested in the gun ranges, but sure others will find the info useful.

Last thing i'm after now, is recommendations for real nice meal. Want to spoil the missus before the show, and take her somewhere real nice.

Any recommendations please?

List of Vegas restaurants with a Michelin Star: http://michelin-starred.com/las-vegas

Otherwise, pretty much all the casino steakhouses are somewhat fancy.

We ate here, after getting recommendations from our Hotel.

http://www.thed.com/dining/andiamo-steakhouse/

It was exceptional - which looking at the reviews is normal.

I'd suggest a wander around Freemont Street - especially on a Friday or Saturday night. It is not what you will be expecting.

Olives at the Bellagio has a patio overlooking the fountains. Make sure you book and arrive early.
The House of Blues in Mandalay Bay-next door to Luxor-has an excellent restaurant for lunch/brunch. Try the clam chowder.
I've tried the 20 dollar trick But it's been hit and miss. I've had more success just being cheery and polite and asking nicely!

Andiamo Steakhouse at the D is indeed very good. I've also eaten many times at Mastros Ocean Steakhouse at Crystals mall in City Centre, and the Paris restaurant is also good. You could also try Cut at the Palazzo, or Jean Georges at Aria. For breakfast buffets, either the Wynn or Aria, both of which offer a really huge range of food and the queue isn't too bad at Aria if you're smart about it (ie don't turn up the same time as most everyone else!). Also, there's a Wendy's on south strip just north of the MGM which is usually only a 10-15 minute wait for breakfast and that's cheap and great food with excellent service every time I've eaten there. Sorry to say but there is nowhere in the Luxor that I would choose to eat. Mandalay Bay was nice 7-8 years ago, but now they just mask the smell with the all-invasive perfume that seems to cater for those few really south strip hotel.

Re. the $20 dollar trick; I've been going to Vegas on business since 2007 and I must have been at least 30-40 times. It helps that I like the city, and you should definately try and get out of the place in a car/bike for at least a day - go see the Valley of Fire or Hoover Dam at least. But, I have never, ever seen this 'trick' used by anyone. Personally I'd just be polite, smile nicely, ask how they're doing, treat them as your friend and, just like here in the UK, you'll get better service. If they take care of you, *then* offer them the $20 tip by way of thanks.

Yeah, we tried the $20 in the Bellagio and we got a 'one step up' upgrade. Stating we are on our Honeymoon was far far faaaar more valuable on the whole! Being British, charming, overly politely & smiley had a great success rate everywhere we went - bars, restaurants especially.

After we had our 'one up' upgrade, I quietly asked to speak to the manager to one side (had to be patient waiting for him) and explained once in a life time trip for us (and the above^ charming, manners, British etc) and he put us up in a corner suite in the Bellagio tower over looking the fountains. Strip views in both directions, inc from the bathroom. Best room i have every stayed in & the views were beyond magnificent - night & day. Watching the foundations (channel on the TV played the music) with a glass of wine before heading out for the evening was magic - something that will stay with me forever.

Book for a meal in the stratosphere.
Ensure you visit the Fremont Street Experience,
Flamingos at The Flamingo,
The Zoo at the Mirage (Dolphins, white tigers etc),
Friday Night Buffet at Caesars Palace (book in advance),
The Blue Man Group at the Monte Carlo was very good (but all the shows are out there),
Try out some of the Nightclubs (even if it is just enjoying the atmosphere for a bit - free entry is not hard to come by if you are a couple),
100% hire a car and do some exploring around the area
Heart Attack Grill if you are feeling brave

Picasso is Michelin starred, very good and overlooks the Belagio fountains- BUT ask for a table that does as some are tucked away inside.
