This if I can get one as I cant get one posted to Aus even though I have a UK account.
If you join Revolut Premium which is £6.99 a month (1 month free at the moment) then they send you out a replacement card anywhere in the world.

It also includes Global Medical Insurance, £400 of free ATM withdrawals a month, unlimited interbank FX, and more

It's the only card I use abroad now. Just transfer money from my bank account straight into card using the app. Then just use the card abroad and in ATMs and always get the best rates with no fees.
Its not the sending out the replacement card, its activating the new card which needs to be done on a UK number.
Which is a fat lot of good when you lose it abroad. They know that but cant give a flying F*ck about it!

I know... but I can use it until I lose it abroad and not get done over by the fx charges on my credit card... even if it is peanuts.

we usually take a small amount of euros from tescos putting them on a tesco credit card as there is no fee and you get clubcard points. we then withdraw cash out in the eurozone, any purchase on cards we choose to pay in euros.

THIS.

Really important. If you are ever offered to pay in your own currency just say no.

I detest the way that so many stores make this offer out to be convenient and in the customer's interest.
Yet I imagine so many people will fall for it.

Not quite.

Can't use them as a deposit for hotels or car rentals. Toll booths, self-help petrol stations won't process a pre-pay debit card.

Revolut AND Clarity gets it all done.
It depends on the country. I use a Revolut card in Italian toll booths all the time. edit: I haven't tried Revolut but my Monzo card worked in two random, no-name Italian petrol station pumps this week too, as well as at an Eni.

I use a Monzo card for travel at the moment, it's very good. They have some upper withdrawl limits over a year but if you won't hit those then it's a good alternative to Revolut.

Just signed up to revolut and Monzo, so I should get them in a month or so out in Australia/Singapore.
