We are looking to book flights to Japan in March. Not too bothered where we fly from or to. We live closest to Birmingham.

Any recommendations for routes / airlines? I am 6ft 4 with quite long legs but we can only afford the cheap seats unfortunately!

JAL London Heathrow to Tokyo Haneda.

They've rolled out their new Sky Wider Economy seating which boasts improved seat pitch and has won an award from Skytrax for being the best Economy Seating on an International flight.

NOT Alitalia.

We flew with them direct to Tokyo. Very cheap, but very bad. Plane was dated and they 'forgot' to bring any food on board.

Now that's bad

We flew earlier this year and went with LOT from Heathrow with a connection in Warsaw. Similar time of year and ~£450pp return. Not that bad really, level with Ethiopian airlines, both new dreamliners with a 737 connection.

Options so far seem to be Air France or KLM for around the £400-£450 mark. That's from Birmingham to Tokyo. Like I said, I'd consider alternative routes if it means better airlines or prices.

They just had no money to pay the caterers.. From one day to the next they're either going bankrupt or getting bailed out by the Italian government.

Jack's flight club called out a cracking deal on an open jaw flight with Aeroflot to Tokyo this week. Check that out?

I flew Aeroflot from Heathrow via Moscow for £498 return 2 yrs ago. New planes, just a couple of hours wait in Moscow, great value.
