Italy East coast suggestions.

Might be too far north for you but the Portopiccolo area near Trieste is beautiful and would be very warm for most of the year. Interesting part of the world and not overrun with Eastern European package holidays like most of the NE resorts like Rimini and Cattolica.
We stayed at the Falisia Spa and Resort for a week.
We drove but the budget airlines fly in to Trieste. If you drive from the UK, there is also the benefit of stupendous scenery through Southern Germany and Austria.

I lived briefly in San Benedetto del Tronto, which was lovely. Fab people. East coast is rather less busy and touristy than other parts of Italy, and I appreciated that.
Ascoli Piceno, just inland, is gorgeous and would make an ace holiday.
My Wife is from San Benedetto del Tronto, we’ve been there for the last 6 summers, great place for a family beach holiday, the beach is about 10k long, and sheltered by sea breaks, the water is shallow for 100/150 meters with little tide, great for swimming and play with the little ones, not so much “free” beach now but plenty of good chalets offering drinks snacks and sun loungers.Ascoli Piceno, just inland, is gorgeous and would make an ace holiday.
Op , Ascoli is a treasure, Ancona is an hour away, rome 2 1/2 and the Sibalini National Park is on your doorstep, a real nice place to visit.

I’m a big fan of Pescara and downwards. I think the beaches and the atmosphere are wonderful. Pescara to San Benedetto is just for what you need. You can base yourself just inland if you want and you are then 30-40mins away from exploring the Appenines & Abruzzo also. I had the good fortune of living and working in the region for a while and heading east to hit the coast around Pescara was always my default weekend activity.

Oh yes, on the concessions (hotels and independent chalets yes) the opperators rent the beach from the local council in the busy areas.Lots of people rent them for the entire season (ie the same ones), or the hotel your staying with will normally provide beds or chairs with the room.
There’s free beach (no beds) on the stretches too.
