I've never understood all the fuss about Lands Ends or John O'Groats.

They have no geographical significance, apart from being a long way from each other.

As an area to enjoy, I do prefer the Lizard.

I wonder what people said about that compared to what was there before when it was built? biggrin
It was built by one woman Rowena Cade and her gardener.
She had carried a lot of the stone up from the cliffs below. Sadly I only went for a day visit, but on a warm summer night you can imagine the atmosphere.

Everywhere needs their honeypots. Can't say I'm too bothered about Lands End's fate myself. It's not as if it's a nuclear waste dump and it's less dire than John O'Groats but that seems to be on the up compared to its previous ruination.

Not sure what the hotel is like but the hotel bar/cafe is quite nice and the food OK however thought we would book into the hotel off peak to see what it was like but not at those prices for a sea view.

We went to minack, it was closed. Went to land's end, had a load of tacky junk which we walked straight past to take photos on the cliff path and then had beer and food in the hotel looking out over the sea. Could be a lot worse!

Minack looks lovely, with all the interest being shown, I might see if I can get the Donut stall franchise.

As already mentioned Sennen Cove is lovely.

I used to have family there and spent many happy summer holidays in Sennen as a child. Is there a better street name than Sunny Corner Lane in Sennen? cool

Also in Devon:

Lost Gardens of Heilgan: http://heligan.com/ - Quite Superb

Tamar Otter Park: http://www.tamarotters.co.uk/ - Best nine quid you will ever spend.

Nothing, and I do mean nothing, beats the bakelite museum here in Somerset though: https://www.bakelitemuseum.net/ - Weird does not begin to describe it.

For what it's worth, I think most of Cornwall is a tip.

Minack bring back memories of going to see Oklahama with my Grandparents and their Rotary group on a coach.

Stunning to watch the production backset by the sunning setting.

Best stay away then, you wont be missed.

One thing I never do is tell the grockles where all the good places are.

Much of it is really rather grim. It does of course have a lot of lovely spots but inland you can feel your spirit wilting in many a place.

I will of course respectfully disagree with you there.

The vast majority of cornwall is beautiful, unspoilt and fantastic. There are the odd spots that are not the most pleasant, but having recently visited Birmingham again, I’d rather live in the grimiest squat in Cornwall than go there hehe

I don't think so.

"moot point. A debatable question, an issue open to argument; also, an irrelevant question, a matter of no importance. For example, Whether Shakespeare actually wrote the poem remains a moot point among critics, or It's a moot point whether the chicken or the egg came first."
