European Car hire for 21 year old

A friend is going abroad shortly and they need to hire a car.

The oldest in their group is 21.

They have found hire companies that will hire to them, but they are wanting a £5k deposit up front due to the age.

Does anyone know of a company that doesnt have such a hefty deposit for a 21 year old?

It is to be hired in Switzerland.

I just did a mock booking via Kayak, which took me to Expedia, which offered me a car through Budget from Zurich Airport.

The rules of the booking say a mini car can be hired from 19, anything else except Luxury from 21. It says a young driver surcharge may apply.

The cost for a Fiesta for 24 hours is £42. It gets as far as asking for my credit card details... (and so I stopped!)

Thanks. I've just tried the same and it all seems legit and has a 'no additional charge' guarantee. I'l pass that over to him
