I am taking the family to the Gymnastics Championships at the SSE Hydro in August. Looking at their website there is no spectator parking at the Hydro. What is the best way to go? I don't want to walk too far as my 80 year old Mum is coming with us. Is there any car parks withing a short walk or is there a car park with a bus route nearby? I've not been to Glasgow for years so am unfamiliar with the city now.
Thanks in advance .

Well I googled for the event - https://www.thessehydro.com/events/detail/2018-eur... - Click on find parking and it takes you to the multi storey...

According to the venue guide

https://www.glasgow2018.com/sites/default/files/Sp...

Page 8 states there is no spectator parking!

I've actually got a meeting with the Hydro / SEC this afternoon, so I'll find out for you.

It does however show parking at the Hydro on page 11

If you can't, this is your next best option: https://www.seccandhydroparking.co.uk

It isn't exactly clear either way! Strictly speaking the multi storey is not part of the Hydro, and it doesn't have it's own car park. Most people would assume the multi storey would be available - I would!

If the multi-storey is closed, your best bet will probably be to park at a station that has a rail service to Exhibition Centre station - that's a shorter walk than from any of the nearby bus routes. I strongly suspect spectators will be pushed to take the train from the town rather than there being a shuttle bus - that's certainly what appeared to happen during the Commonwealth Games.
