I've got a 2 week business trip coming up and I want to take hand luggage only.

I'm doing at least 9 flights in that two weeks and waiting for luggage to come out is a complete pain - waited 30-45 minutes three times on the last trip which nearly caused a missed flight.

To complicate matters, I'm going to be in cold climate for first part of week 1 and then warm/hot for rest of week 1 before back to cold for week 2!

Top tips and advice please - hotel dry cleaning is a given!

If you are willing to spend money on laundry then you can live indefinitely out of hand luggage.

For the weather difference, take lots of layers rather than a single massive coat or jumper.

Wear your warm coat to the 1st destination, then either leave it there if you're coming back to the same place or courier to the next cold place whilst you're in the heat?

I've done a 2 week biz trip on hand luggage - but it was a roller bag that suits also rolled / folded into.
Hotel dry cleaning is a must as I can't pack like Jack Reacher = toothbrush only!

For the coat, I have one of those that packs into a small pouch, and can be literally crushed down into your luggage.
Once out of its pouch and given a quick shake, it's fine!
This one, in fact: http://www.eddiebauer.com/product/mens-cirruslite-...

1 pair of causal shoes / trainers
V neck jumper to wear over (work) shirts
Use hotel toiletries ALL the time
... very little else needed

= which now makes me think, "Why don't I pack like that more often?!" laugh

If you're struggling to get everything in, lighten the load as you go.

Stock up on supermarket shirts and pants, get a cheap suitcase from a charity shop and as and when, just leave the clothes behind that you don't need. You start off having to check a bag but you can 'wean' you're self off.

Aftershave...you can buy these mini-bottles of different types that will last you the time you're away.

Buy toiletries when you're there.

use already. top tip though, found i get more stuff in same size case after i started using them and easy to keep clean/ dirty separated.

also using quick dry underwear (rohan do nice ones) - three pairs each of boxers and socks is all that is required, as long as I remember to wash them!

packable coat is on the shopping list - looks like that solves one problem!

completed last trip on 3 pairs of shoes - 1 smart, 1 casual and 1 trainer (use Nike Free Run as they have collapsable heel counter which means they can be packed almost flat). could ditch the casual this time.

use hotel toiletries generally okay but always take small backups just in case

can get expensive but it does the trick however timings can be a pain, i'm checking into hotels at 8-9pm and then out at 7am and some places can't do overnight cleaning which if you need a clean / pressed suit for next day is the problem. Had that last year but a 20 minute steam in the shower got it usable again until the next hotel where they did overnight cleaning.

Was impressed in a hotel in Mexico last year when they collected 1 suit, 3 dress shirts, 2 casual shirts and 2 t-shirts and had them back to me in about 6 hours. On a public holiday. For about £20.
