Went to Dubrovnik last year for part of my honeymoon and loved every minute of it, decoded to head back to Croatia with the kids next May, this time to Split.

Any recomendations for things to do, places to eat and any family orientated days out/ stuff to keep kids entertained?

Went to Dubrovnik this year and it was great!
Went to Split on the way home and it was very disappointing! The old town seemed to be ringed with second rate market stalls selling all the tat you don’t want!!
We will not be going there again!! Dubrovnik was magic!

Not all that interesting really but maybe I missed something ? Think there are some boat trips out to some nearby islands, statue of a big man around the back. Bought some shoes there, they were expensive.

Yeah a boat trip out to the islands is on the cards, did the same out to those 3 islands near dubrovnik and for the first time ever on holiday i was able to just switch off from work and everything else and just enjoy the surroundings.

I’ve been up Rovinj a couple of times on holiday and done 2 separate sailing holidays out of Trogir (end of split runway) with a 3rd booked next year.

Split is the worst place I’ve ever visited in Croatia and I will never go back other than to use the overcrowded airport (They were building a new terminal when I was last visiting so hopefully that solves the problem.)

We actually never spent the day time in Split. Only the evenings. A favourite pizza place was Pizzeria portas.

Trogir, Zadar and of course Krka are all within day trip distance. If going to the falls, go early as we were advised the crowds can get pretty intense.

Being PH, you should also consider the mountain road up Sveti Jure. Not for the weak hearted but well worth it. Its a bit further from Split though (we were down that way on the first night so not so much of an issue)

By far our favourite place was Korcula. Beautiful town. We spent several days there, not sure how doable a day trip is.
