Inspired by the centre parcs topic I’m looking for any insight into haven (or similar) type holidays.

Not being a powerfully built director our family holidays aren’t particularly lavish and with kids of 3 and 5 right now we’re taking advantage of that whilst we can.

Can anyone recommend any particular haven type parks for summer holidays? Will be travelling outwith the English school holidays so hoping that we may avoid some of the chaos.

Key features would be nice site / amenities, activities for young kids, nice pool, ideally in an area with local attractions suitable for a young family.

Thanks

Much like Centre Parcs you tend to find that they all have similar activities at every site.

Having said that in their list is the odd older park....

We have been on and off for years with our own tourer. Kids have always had fun. It's a bit more down market than Centre Parcs, but the modern mobile homes are nice and you can duck in or out of the bars depending on how you find them

Prices on-site are far more reasonable than Centre Parcs, and getting out and about is less difficult - the car park is not 30 minutes walk away....

When we used to go to peurto Banus me and the mrs used to eat at the marina restuarants and people watch.

Many years later with a family we went to Haven at Caister, we sat at the cafe and people watched. It was like two different species of people, chalk and cheese.

Haven people were certainly more "interesting", lots of evidence of Darwinian theory on inbreeding.

Really good plus the snowdonia National Park plus countless stunning beaches - actually this has one anyway.

Thanks for the input!

Both parks look worthy of consideration! Have stayed at thornwick bay once and enjoyed it but fancy another.

Appreciate the diverse clientele - visiting out of school holidays so hoping that will avoid some of this!
