If them's the rules how come I get 2 months worth each & every time without requesting it??
Yep me too and if I need more or need to order earlier than I should because I’m going away there is no issue.Ours is all on line so don’t even speak to anyone. Just order and pop to the chemist about 5 days later.

I think the concept of the high street travel agent is dead. I wander past them & sometimes wonder who actually uses them these days.
When I purchase travel nowadays it's all online, I look at hotels, have tripadvisor open at the same time, flicking through the hotels online & on TA at the same time. I just don't see what value a high street agent brings anymore
We do a lot of research online, but we still go into the actual agent to book. Now that we are a family of four, holidays are very expensive and therefor I want to be able to speak to someone face to face so I can get answers to valuable questions. Also, when it goes wrong that high street location is invaluable.
Sadly, the younger one turns two in January and I fear that TUI offering will just be too much for us, so it will all be booked online because Eurocamp is the current favorite and that is all online.
If you have done your research, what can a high street agent possibly offer? It's not going to be cheaper prices.

£2k for a trip to Turkey?
And, today, I heard Shelagh Fartarty on LBC say that TC provided people with "affordable holidays". I suspect that was, in reality, "expensive rip-off holidays with affordable payment plans"...
Exactly. Take a mass market product, bundle it up with cheap flights from in-house airline. Add some margin into the deal then flog off on the high street with low down payment and monthly payment plan. It’s like those companies who use to rent you a TV, you end up buying it like 3 times over but value the monthly payment of £9.99.
I’d rather go without, until I’ve saved enough to buy a decent holiday outright, much better choice going ala carte.
Ok I will bite, how much do you think holidays to Turkey are? If you think £1k will get two of you to turkey you can dream on. Its not the 90's anymore when I remember paying £450 all inclusive to go to Tenerife staying in 5* accommodation (incl flights).
The £ is ste right now, we paid £3k for turkey at half term in May - yeah its a disgraceful amount, I agree, but where in europe can you go thats warm in May (25c plus) when you have a week. Friends went to menorca and had the most miserable week for weather (and paid £2.2k for the privilage), didn't get past 20c, better weather in the UK.
We had a great time, 2 adults 2 children for that price all inclusive. Won't go back for a while, I do like to go different places, but seriously struggling for May half term of what to do.
Also I do not ski

I think you two might be talking about different things. 28 days is recommended for controlled drugs. Basically pain killers over a certain strength or medications which have a street value.
Otherwise its at th edoctors discretion.
Nope CCGs are told to prescribe in 28 day blocks unless there is good reason to do it otherwise. This is done to prevent stockpiling and wastage. Pretty much every GP practice will be the sameOtherwise its at th edoctors discretion.
Controlled drugs are 28 as stated in legislation (The Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001) and not just a recommendation. Prescription is valid for 28 days from the date of writing and only 28 days supply allowed.
Pretty stunned at the news Hayes have stepped in to buy them. I just thought they were gone gone.

Only the shops, not the airline business. Still good news, though.
R.
Yup, lots of profitable parts of Thomas cook’s business, despite what people on here were saying. It was the debt from mytravel that crippled them combined with some poor management decisions and tough trading conditions and massive over capacity in the market.R.
Plus the atol protection seems to have been worthwhile for customers.

Anyone got anywhere with regards ATOL refunds yet?
I'm waiting on about £3k for a Cuba trip
Not ATOL as flight only weren't ATOL protected but Girlfriend was refunded about 4 weeks ago by Barclaycard, I just get emails from Visa saying they're still looking into it I'm waiting on about £3k for a Cuba trip
Shouldn't be that difficult if one can refund but one can't ?

Don't think they'll pay the extra £600 I had to pay for return flights but who knows.

My parents had an email for both of their holidays yesterday asking for copies of the ATOL certificate and bank statements showing the payments. Is there any way of verifying it's legit?
Seperate emails for each booking, so seems unlikely somebody dodgy would have that level of info.

I’m currently waiting for a refund of £7500 from a dream holiday I booked with Thomas Cook(they went bust 2 days before I was due to fly). With Christmas coming I could really do with that money back.
I haven’t heard anything since I put my claim in mid October. Did anybody get any correspondence between claim and payment? I’ve looked for somewhere to chase up but can’t find any way.
I’ve heard a lot of people got a refund within a week or two. I don’t know if I’m still waiting because it was a large amount of money.
Starting to feel a very stressed and a bit brassic.

I haven't heard a bean from them after putting my claim in apart from a couple of standard email replies from the above link.
But it doesn't really help the stress part of getting your refund tho...
