I have a hankering for something turbocharged to run alongside my M5. Given the budget constraints, what am missing from this list?

Octavia mk1 vRS
Saab 93 Aero (2003 on)
Golf GTi
Audi A4 1.8t
Seat Leon 1.8t mk1

I feel like I am missing a lot of cars from that list.

This is only for petrol cars.

Not exactly inspired ideas, but you could add Audi A3 and TT!

I had an X-plate Leon Cupra many years ago and it went like stink - handling was a completely different matter! rolleyes

Something like the immaculate Saab 9-5 aero I have for sale would do nicely I should think.

Mitsubishi Colt CZT
Mazda 6 MPS

Given the low budget I aren't sure there is anything that can be inspired about them hehe

I wouldn't be against a 9-5 Aero manual. The MPS is probably out of budget, as it'll likely need a million jobs doing to it.

I wouldn't mind a Forester as well. Twingo is a bit small for me, my wife has a RenaultSport 133 and it's not comfortable for me on long drives.
Not sure I'd find a decent Forester in budget though.

If you can find a Mk1 Leon Cupra within budget they go like dog doo off a shovel and have good handling, not so comfy for passengers but they are good as a drivers car, come to think of it I might see if I can pick one up myself for track

Top of my list would be a black mk1 Octavia VRS.

You could always pick up an early phase 1 Megane 225 Trophy for 2k.

I'm too worried about their comfort laugh I have my M5 for longer distance driving, I just want something turbocharged as I really miss owning one.

I'm not sure about their reliability...

Stick 'turbo' in the search for eBay under cars and classics; narrow it down to less than £2,000, petrol powered and ending soonest and sit back and enjoy. PS. Avoid alcohol while browsing!

I'm selling an A3 1.8t 2002 76.5k miles, 12 months fresh mot no advisories if you are interested. I've owned it 15 yrs, needs a bit of tlc to make a1 but mechanically great, heated leather, fsh but due one, cambelt / water pump done at 50k in 2012. New decent tyres all round last year, looking for around 1k.

Think cambelt on these is 5 years or 75k, so well overdue. Not a cheap exercise.

Well compared to your other car nothing in this sort of budget will be that inspiring! laugh

I went predictable with my daily and bought a 330i - I'm not a turbo fan. rolleyes

Thanks all.

I have had a Noobtuned Saab 93 Aero before and it did go well. Only thing I didn't like was how st the radio is lol. I have also had a Mk1 Octavia vRS before (remapped). This is why they're on the list.

I aren't a fan of the A3 unfortunately, but thanks for the offer.
