Anyone have knowledge of Orange AE07 MUC currently for sale at the Octane Collection? Looks in great condition, low miles, but any info appreciated. Will you obviously do inspection and usual due diligence if I proceed.

Can’t help but looks expensive to me...my OPC had one with 20k miles last year which they had up for £120k, Was.a really nice clean car. Also being an OPC car would have had a two year Porsche warranty with it. For another £10k to £20k you could have a .2 RS which I think would be a better buy.

Seems a bit unfair posting a picture of a completely unrelated car smashed up.

What about this one at £99k?

Better price but too many miles for me , whereas the Octane car looks superb with a great mileage but high price also, hmm.

it's only 2.5k PA that's just enough to keep it working right.

the RPM car was nice but some one reserved that now.

33k too many miles?! It's a Porsche not a Ferrari!

It may not be the same one but my mate looked at one there when he was buying his-they wouldn't let him test drive it IIRC. He ended up buying one from an OPC instead. There was nothing wrong with the Octane car but they wouldn't do any sort of deal on it and when it worked out he could get the OPC car with 2 year warranty marginally cheaper it was a no brainer.

That warranty proved worth it's value by the way-I'm not convinced these cars like being sat around unused.

True, didn't think about it that way.

I thought £99k seemed a tad cheap for a 997.1 GT3 RS with 33k miles, but looking through the PH classifieds, and given it's from a non OPC, non-specialist dealer, then it seems about right. You'd really want to get it PPI'd though.

I might be wrong here, but I'm sure I remember a re-shelled orange one for sale (or speculation of it having being re-shelled) a year or so ago??? anyone remember?

Absolutely and it was sold via an OPC.

If 20k is about the right difference between a cs and an rs then the 99k car above looks interesting

One of the pics has the reg no so you can dig up quite alot of its background already by calling the opc silverstone and autofarm

Has one of the M.O.T testing stations made a typo when issuing the certificate, or has the one on Autotrader done an awful lot of reversing between August 2014(39746miles) and June 2016(30313miles)??

Judging by the service history I'm guessing an incorrect mileage input.

I hadn't realised how much these had dropped in price recently if this is anything to go by.....still overpriced in my opinion, when you think of what these were being advertised for pre craziness circa 2012.

I posted it up then deleted it, similar plate but different car. Not fair to conflate the 2 in hindsight.

Hi Darren,

That would involve a time machine though. If we had one of those I'd go back to 2000 and buy a 964rs for £28k, or back to 1987 and buy the 1972 911 2.4S advertised in the July issue of Supercar Classics (obscure I know, but I have it on my desk!)...for £9,950.

I don't think we'll see that level of adjustment, if anything they're looking like absolute bargains now...

Thanks for input. I am making a mid life change in approach to stop buying cars I am told I should want to getting the best version of what I really want. So it has to be the most perfect version of an orange 997.1 RS with no satnav, Black interior etc. Only will do 1000 dry miles a year.

I bought it. In the first week it’s performed a lot better than stocks. So that’s a good investment.

Brilliant.

Orange 7.1RS is one of my favourite. Or green for that matter!
