Part of me is glad they are going to offer this but then pissed off that its sort of only open to certain ages as in theory, the under 40's wont be able to get the 2nd jab until August. Obviously you can just turn up at a vaccine centre and hope for some leftovers.
That’s one of the downsides of the British commitment to the AZ vaccine... 10-12 weeks between 1st and 2nd doses. Over here AZ is only given to the over 60’s, and everyone else gets Pfizer/Moderna.
I had my 2nd Pfizer last Thursday... exactly 3 weeks after my 1st dose.
Most of my Spanish friends in their 40’s will be fully vaccinated within the next 3 weeks.

So, I assume you have not had the jab then, Phil?

Would you ask someone if they had HIV? Why do assume I have not had a jab? Why are you asking a highly personal medical question? R
Hows asking someone if they have HIV in any way similar to asking if you've had a covid jab ?
Would you over react if someone asked if you'd had the flu jab or take anything for hay fever ?

New variants appear every 6-8weeks.
We have been told we have to learn to live with the virus
We have also been told that the vaccine would set us free
Yet we have this from the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Coronavirus...
Scrapping quarantine for double-jabbed would be 'reckless', MPs claim

It would be "reckless" to drop the self-isolation requirement for travellers returning from amber-listed destinations, MPs in the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Coronavirus have claimed.
Caroline Lucas, vice-chairwoman of the group, said: "The Delta variant first arrived here in the UK precisely because of inadequate pre-travel requirements and health checks at UK arrival halls, compounded by a lack of support and enforcement of mandatory quarantine.
"Scrapping quarantine measures now would be reckless and risks squandering the hard-earned freedoms of the British public again, just like they did last summer".
All travellers arriving in the UK from countries and territories on the amber list must self-isolate for up to 10 days. However, Matt Hancock, the Health Secretary, has confirmed that ministers are "working on" plans for quarantine-free travel for fully vaccinated Britons.
Analysis of NHS Test and Trace figures by The Times found that fewer than one in 200 travellers who entered the UK from amber tier countries between May 20 and June 9 tested positive for coronavirus.
The quarantine rule change could be revealed on Thursday following the meeting of the Cabinet’s Covid-O committee, in which ministers are set to approve the vaccination travel plans and make a call on whether to expand the green list.

I've just had the results of my 8 day after return test.
Negative, same as my pre holiday test, my test on holiday prior to departure and my 2 day after return test.
£280 that cost.
I've not had any notification that anyone on my flights there and back have tested positive.
I've also not had anyone knock on my door to check I was isolating.
A 20:20 cricket match I was attending on Friday has reduced numbers to 800 due to lockdown not being lifted and I've had my tickets refunded, yet I read today that there will be 60k people at Wembley for the Euro fina (the 2 sports grounds are less 30 miles apart).
fk this st. I've had enough. It's just bks now.

Can someone explain to me ( a UK citizen ) why I’m not allowed to visit my Granddaughter and Gt GrandChildren who live in Germany, I haven’t seen them since 2019. When there are tens of thousands of Euro Football fans travelling all over Europe.
There seems to be less restrictions for EU citizens within the EU.We are off to our flat in spain on the 9th july, going directly from picking the kids up from last day of term to the airport. we cancelled last year and then probably could have gone. We can quantine quite happily for the 5 days when we get back, or just stay there a few more weeks if we get stuck, just living on beans on toast instead of restuarants.
BA have moved our flights from gatwick to heathrow, very helpfull when we moved to within a few miles of gatwick last year.

Same here re. tests. 8 day negative received tonight. Also had the 5 day test, so 5 negatives for myself and myself and my wife. Nothing from the outward or return flights either. Negative, same as my pre holiday test, my test on holiday prior to departure and my 2 day after return test.

This will be good news but what happens for families with kids - have they said?
We want to go to France in august but not if it’s still tests x 3 per child. It’s too expensive and not worth it.

It's more dangerous for me to go to my villa with just my missus, than it is for me to rub shoulders with 60 thousand people apparently.
fk right off.
I've been completely calm and patient with the whole situation since the first bits of news started to filter through from China in November/December 2019, including being in agreement with most of the Governments decisions, as well adhering to everything they have asked of me and my family, pretty much to the letter (as i'm sure most have to be fair)......but even I feel that now its just getting a bit silly. fk right off.
Relaxing rules to facilitate football fans or VIP travel is just kick in the teeth.
