Yes, the code will be in an email from them.
I filled in the passenger locator form yesterday.

The email confirmation arrived about 30 mins after i wrote my comments above.

I also got a call from customer service the next morning in reply to a customer service email i sent.
So very good service i'd say.

The tests arrived 2 days after ordering them.

Only snag is their recommended courier and their own drop boxes for the tests aren't everywhere.
My nearest one of each is 30 mins drive away.
Fine if you are in or close to a city.

Royal mail special delivery will accept the test in the post.
But that option might take a little longer.

I figure, the only test that is really important for us is the day 5 test to release.
For that one we'll drive to the drop box.
For the others, probably royal mail.

Cheers for your response Phil, I know you are very much on the ball all Spain and travel related on here.

I’m booked in at a private clinic at Benalmadena Marina, I’ll see what they say about LFT when I go.

I know Malaga airport do a cheaper deal but I was wanting to avoid the faff of on-line booking / mucking about at last doors.

I returned from Portugal just over a week ago so have gone through the whole process, and used Randox. It can be quite a stressful process first time through, so feel free to ask any questions, however minor they might be.

I hate politics.

So a new travel list has been published that puts parts of Spain on the green list. I don't know the exact figures for the Spanish Islands but as of 23rd June Spain's overall numbers are 51 cases per 100,000 and 80 vaccination doses per 100. Whereas, Germany is 7 cases per 100,000 and 83 vaccination doses per 100. For what reason, other than bloody politics, is Germany not on the Green list? I will still do my best to come over the UK in August to see my family for the first time in over 18 months and introduce them to my 16 month old daughter but it would be much easier and cheaper if Germany was green and not amber. Does the Government publish the specific criteria for their list decision making?

edit. As far as I can google, the Spanish Islands currently have around 48 cases per 100,000. No idea on the vaccinations numbers but I expect it is similar to Spain's overall number.

They won't publish the criteria, because then the politics won't be able to come into play. Everybody wants reciprocity.. While Merkel/Macron are shouting off about banning Brits, Germany/France ain't going green.

Bit of an update fellas.

Ordered my home test from Randox this morning £96, I’ve gone for 2 and 8 day PCR for release after day 8. I received an e mail almost instantly of confirmation - so we’ll see how it goes!

Word of warning, I’ve had an e mail from EasyJet stressing documentation is preferable in just that (paper) to avoid hold ups. So I’ve had a bit of a faff with sorting that - abroad.

On another note mask wearing becomes non- compulsory outside this weekend ( when the virus presumably has passed). When I was visiting here my last 3 trips over the last 12 months the enforcement was very strict.

I’ve noticed this time hardly anyone bothers at all.

Can anybody say when the randox day 5 test kit is sent?

I ordered the day 2 5 and 8 .
I received the day 2 and day 8.
Not the day 5 and day 5 is on wednesday.

Is the day 5 sent seperately?

The faqs on the website are not clear.
Their telephone helpline hangs up after one ring.

Not so impressed today.

Well, good for randox, they got back to me with an email within 5 mins.

So,,,,day 5 is dispatched on day 4 for delivery on day 5.

Day 2 and day 8 arrived between 2 and 4pm by dpd.

The randox dropbox is 30 mins away and cutooff for collection is 5pm

How sodding stupid is that.

So, very possible we won't get result back from day 5 until day 7.

Not impressed.

I used Randox. I only used their drop box which is similarly 30 mins drive.

All but one test result came back the next day. The outgoing test result was the late one, which was a bit stressful. You would expect them to prioritise these.

The day 5 test was delivered on day 4. Once It got to day 6 I just ignored quarantine on principle, having had a negative result on day 2 and been nowhere since. I didn’t wait for the day 5 result which was obviously negative.

It really gripes when you’ve had the day 5 test, still have to take the day 8 test, and some calls to remind you to do it! Money making scam or what!

When buying the extra tests that were required when Portugal went from Green to a Amber, the discount codes didn’t work. I called their Customer Services who advised to buy the tests at full price and claim a refund. After much chasing their refunds dept said no! I submitted a complaint which they are now ignoring. Chasing continues…..

You’d have thought, given the amount Randox is making out of enforced travel testing, that they could get their CS and refunds departments operating effectively.

Apparantly, the day 5 tests can only be sent out to arrive on day 5 so people do not do them early.
Government rules.

So far with randoxhealth -

ordered 2 5 and 8.

received 2 and 8 in plenty of time.

Dropped off test 2 in the randox dropbox 30 mins away yesterday for their 5 pm cut off collection time.

email 5.30 am today confirming arrival at their laboratory.

email 1.35 pm today confirming negative test result.

Customer service has been very good.

All very good so far.

I returned from Italy recently. Booked days 2, 5 and 8 in advance with CT24. After getting delivery notifications before I actually landed, all 3 tests were delivered on the day after I returned (as they said they would be).

Tests returned via priority post boxes, results received by email the afternoon or evening of the day they received them.

Actually fairly impressed how well it all worked.

An update to my randox experience.

tests arrived in time at my door.

day 2 dropped off in dropbox 30 mins away by 5 pm cutoff time.
arrival at lab confirmation 5.45 am next morning
test result 1.35 that day

day 5 dropped off as above
now 2 days later
no confirmation of arrival at lab
no result
they appear to have lost it

So, stuck in doors stilll.
day 8 test tomorrow....but do i trust randox with their 50% track record so far?

Oh...they also lost my partner's pre flight test.
So she couldn't take her flight this morning.
£175 down the drain and a lot of stress.

Would i use these clowns again?
Not a chance.

How can you lose 2 tests?

Does anyone know where i can get a quick pcr test in a chan such as boots?

Boots website not working and takes upto 48 hours.

Looking for something quicker.

I no longer trust randox not to have us in quarantine for weeks.

I had a lot of trouble with Randox over a refund and the only way I got a response was by pointing out their faults on social media.

Also, be aware that you can claim a full refund for any late or missed results (I did). They will probably deny this but again social media is your friend.

Given the millions they are making out of this testing their customer service is diabolical when something goes wrong. They are quick to take your money but don’t like giving it back when they are in the wrong.

Good luck.

Hi Phil, (both Phill’s)

So what happens with regard to missing kits samples etc? What are the consequences?

I got back to the U.K. late last night, I have my sample kits and I’m now concerned with your post.

For one thing, I’m back home, but if the situation is beyond your own control?

In the above case, it is the 5 test that is missing, so no early release.

My personal opinion is that if you do what you need to do for the 2 and 8 day tests, and the provider fails to deliver a result, then you still exit quarantine on day 10 as normal.

Cheers Phil,

As an update. Documentation checks at Malaga Airport were very stringent upon boarding. I’d printed all mine off in advance PCR I’d obtained the actual signed certificate from clinic rather than scanned in PDF. I know a PCR wasn’t necessary, but after my journey out and the confusion around matters - I went belt and braces.

Aircraft fairly full (in a lot of cases three sat next to each other in a row)

Absolutely zero checks upon arrival at Manchester on documentation.

Would I do all that again?

Probably not! I’m in a fairly fortunate position where I own a property in Spain, if it all the arrangements had collapsed like a house of cards (failed or inconclusive result) - I still had a roof over my head and some wriggle room.

I’ve got another trip planned in October, I don’t think I could go through all that / this again.

I was out there for 4 weeks, first week and half was good, after that, just a massive distraction which left me feeling restless all the time.

Consider going away for a week, I definitely wouldn’t.

A weekend away? Forget about it, totally impossible now.

You have to be really flexible now for euro travel, and have very limited constraints.

And deep pockets.
