Not Cornwall. The island was deliberately included to help smile

Yes. It’s the folly on the top of the cliffs above Hartland Quay.

I AM NOT ACCUSING ANYONE OF ANYTHING BUT:

Some of these are being guessed very quickly, please do not Google them.

As a weekend commuter from Plymouth to Portsmouth via Salisbury, I drove past it twice a week for several years. No guessing involved so kindly don't shout

Well despite shouting it appears that you didn't read it, I am not accusing anyone (which obviously includes you). I am commenting on the recent increase in quick correct answers, especially when some of the places are pretty obscure. Googling ruins this thread.

Anyway, congratulations, you're up.

Couldn’t place that (after thinking about the Thornton orangery, chapel on Stamford St etc), but now I remember I had a look at it after going to Sutton House. “Very ambitious, although rather cheaply executed”, according to Pevsner.

I think it's always nice to know how someone knew or deduced a correct answer whether it be by instant recognition or by figuring it out from clues. Some people can instantly identify obscure cars, others obscure places without resorting to Google. I'm pretty crap at both but do have an occasional flash of inspiration, as I'm sure do others.

The understanding has always been that the answer must NOT be obtained by Googling.

Sorry for the off topic nature of this question, but I'd never heard of that place, it's reasonably local to me and I'll probably come for a visit this summer. So thanks for posting. One question - cash or card on entry? It would be great if websites like yours would specify things like this, I can't be the only person who no longer carries cash unless I know it's going to be needed.
Either - pre-lockdown was cash only, but now have a card device. Occasional nightmares getting reception when you are in the bottom of a thick walled tower!
