Covid, USA, tests, Baffled, please help
Discussion
There's 6 of us flying to the States on Wednesday, I've been charged with the enviable task of sorting the covid tests. I've bought 6 of the certificate only jobbers from Klarity.
I'm just about to send a group message out to everyone telling them what I need from them on Tuesday. If I get them to send a picture of the negative test with their initials and the date on them can I just upload that, or does the picture need to be taken with my phone and uploaded right away? Also, what 'personal information' that the app says it needs does it need? Just want to make sure I get everyone to send me everything I need in one go with no pissing around going back and forth.

Certainly doesn’t need to be taken with your phone and doesn’t even need to be a recent photo - as long as it has a negative test present it’ll be fine - you could use an image of a negative test from 12mths ago if you were so inclined. Just ask them all for the pic of the LFT as planned and a copy of their passport page and you’ll be good IIRC
It will ask for the manufacturer of the test - select any, it doesn’t matter.
Did the tests today, couldn't have been any more straight forward. Although you do need to wait 15 minutes from starting the test before you can submit it, so worth bearing in mind if you have a few to do!
Upload a picture, scan the QR code if you want (initial and date the test result if you don't), fill in the name and the passport number and submit. Certificates came back within 15 minutes.

You can skip this 15min wait part - I didn’t realise the first time I went through the process. Upload a picture, scan the QR code if you want (initial and date the test result if you don't), fill in the name and the passport number and submit. Certificates came back within 15 minutes.

Some really useful info in this thread so thanks to all. We are heading to Florida on the 25th and I am looking to sort our pre-flight Covid test certification.
We have some NHS lateral flow tests which we can use so I am keen on the Klarity solution which many have recommended.
Before I order can someone confirm if the Basic certificate works (no video observation) or if you need to do the video observed ones?
Basic - https://klarity.health/product/6-basic-covid-certi...
Video - https://klarity.health/product/premium-antigen-cer...
I know you should have video, but if you don't need it then I'll save the cash and aggravation of trying to get a 6 and 4 year old to do it for a person on a screen. It's hard enough not!
I believe its the same certificate from Klarity regardless of the one you purchase and this would provide all the CDC need to see?

Answered exhaustively upthread... but yes, the certficate is the same regardless of which klarity service you use, and many of us have used the 9.99 basic service multiple times, using an NHS test, without issue.
The CDC or CBP don't see or verify anything whatsoever - it is all done at the airport in person at or before the check in desk, or via upload to your carrier.

Thank you GCH. Appreciate it may have been repetition but I just wanted to double check.
Basic tests purchased and will get them done in the 24 hours prior.
One calendar day prior not 24 hours. Subtle difference but might help with beating the hordes to online check in and seat selection at bang on the 24 hour mark.Basic tests purchased and will get them done in the 24 hours prior.
6 of us arrived in the US about 5 hours ago, all of us did our own tests the day before, certified by the £9.99 certificate only Klarity option.
The only person who showed an interest in them was the chap who was telling us where to queue up at check in at Manchester Airport.
If you have your own tests (of any brand) there's no reason to go for anything other than the £9.99 certificate only option.

I think you are referring to the official US CDC attestation form but I think the question is whether the Klarity cert' is accepted by Virgin's online system.
I'm flying with Virgin myself and I assume you have to supply both documents but hopefully Virgin accept a Klarity certificate the same as everyone else?

They do. We flew out with it last week. I'm flying with Virgin myself and I assume you have to supply both documents but hopefully Virgin accept a Klarity certificate the same as everyone else?

I'm sure we're all honest on here, but if someone knowingly Covid positive wants to get on your flight all they need to do is to get someone negative to take their test, without the live video supervision, and off they fly.
I guess those here suggesting the "no video" method have simply thought "what's the point" when others could be flouting the rules.
Plus, with most other destinations needing no test the airport will be full of Covid positive passengers anyhow.
It's Klarity's and the airlines' fault of course, for providing and accepting false fit to fly certificates for those tests not video'd.
For the avoidance of doubt, the US health service Covid home test rules stipulate:
"The testing procedure must include a telehealth service affiliated with the manufacturer of the test that provides real-time supervision remotely through an audio and video connection."
As under...
