My son's application appears to be stuck. I keep getting through then put on hold again to be put through to another office. A half hour, an hour but then the call drops.

As his original was lost I was given a ref number. There is nowhere on the online application asking for it.

After weeks someone yesterday told me it was stuck because they didn't have that number.

They have it now but why didn't they contact me to ask for it. On the tracker it just says we'll ask you for more details if needed.

I was impressed in the first few days of April with texts keeping me in the loop but since May 3rd.....Nothing!

Fekin useless!

Our sons renewal took 25 days including a rejected photo - we were quoted 10 weeks at the start of the process so was a pleasant surprise.

Now need BA easyJet and Jet2 and Spainish ATC to stop this striking nonsense.

As we will end up camping in a cold wet field in Wales instead.

I had the email 2 weeks ago telling me to book my interview (first passport). I've tried, but the phone line just tells me to email them with my full name, phone number and reference number and they will 'endeavour' to phone me back.
5 further emails from them telling me to book and still can't get through.

With a private company you'd be insisting on money back or a discount.

Well taking my example (end of May22) they stated upon application the expected time would be 10 weeks - it actually took 25 days including a rejected picture which added a week.

Should I write to them to thank them for surpassing expectations or pay more for such a good service?

No Welshy smile

But I have lost count of the hours I have been on hold. The first people to answer the phone agree that there is an issue but they can't deal with it so put me through to another 'higher' office. Then I'm on hold for up to an hour so far, but then the line is cut.

About to try again.

Sent SWMBO's away just over a week ago for a change of name. She got a massage last week saying it's been received and payment was taken. Got till the end of September before Honeymoon

Excellent service getting a massage as well. Was it from the Swedish Prime Minister? (Old joke).

Got through to someone who appeared to know what they were doing on Saturday.

Said the application needed to be 'upgraded' as it's been too long now but meant being transferred to another dept.

She came back onto the line to say that the waiting times would take me beyond end of the business day so arranged for someone to call me back.

It's now Tuesday.

I have called so many times, what to do?

Maybe blow another £75 and start another application.

Been nearly 10 weeks now yet on here has mainly been stories of quick turnarounds.

Son's mum has cancelled the trip abroad and gone to Center Parcs.

Just had an email stating that I don't need to have the interview, my application is approved and my passport is going to the printers.

I thought interviews were a must for first passports? Oh well, I was struggling to get through to book, so I'm happy.

How long are people finding it takes currently? I've heard of examples of it being turned around in a week but in the same family, the person has been waiting over 2 weeks now.
