Had a look but didnt find a 2023 thread.

Just booked for Playa Paraiso, Tenerife 13th Jan. Have been to Gran Canaria once and Lanzarote more times than I can count. Last time in Tenerife was with my mum and dad 39 years ago when I was 15 !

Cant wait !

If you hire a car, never leave anything in it. They seem to have gangs who capture key frequencies, nick stuff, relock, you drive off, none the wiser.

Teide National Park is essential visiting but they operate up there too.

Won’t be driving it’s all inclusive and my plan is to spend all week sat by the pool with my Kindle.

Fortunately you're not there during the World Cup.

As an England football fan with a load of Welsh mates (I went to the pub to watch Wales v Iran with them on Thursday, they wouldn't let me buy a beer all night) I just find this all rather depressing.

Back in FV from the 7th so hope the Wild Cup doesn't ruin the holiday.

Zero interest in football.

To be fair that little strip at Veronicas always gets a bit lively at kicking out time (and reminds me why I don't stay in PDLA when we go to Tenerife!)

when we are over there we like to walk past Veronicas just to relive our youth!

Have a Villa in Corralejo FV for 6 weeks from mid Jan. Never been at that time of year before for here’s hoping it is ok - will be better than at home though.

Family coming out in phases for 3 weeks which may be a good thing or bad! Time will tell

Looks like rain and a thunderstorm during the next week and overcast after that.

It's not always sunny but the temperatures will still be around 23 degrees.

Looking to book the Riu Vistamar for a week in February. Been there a few times in the past. Was wondering if anybody has been there since the refurbishment.

We have booked the Buenavista in Jan that’s also had a recent refurb.

Have visited the Riu Paraisio in Lanzarote about 10 times and they have made a superb job of it even changed the shape of the pools !

Would have though all the hotels would have been done to the same template / standard.

Just booked the Riu Vistamar for the last week in February, came in at €1690. Flights are good times and only €320 for the 2 of us.

Going to Gran Canaria mid-Feb and have never been before. Is it worth hiring a car?

Yes, the interior has stunning views. The only downside is that the roads twist and turn so much that even after an hour, you're not far inland 😂

The zoo is nice, if expensive, with free flight birds.

Harder to 0ark in some areas though but someone told me you can park up, get the ticket and then pay off the ticket in the parking machines for a far lesser amount. Didn't try it though.

We're looking to book a last minute week away in the next few days.

Is Lanzarote noticeably colder being a bit further North than the other islands? Or is there nothing in it.

I've stayed in the North of Tenerife in Feb and it was a good 10 degrees colder than the southern resorts although I imagine a lot of that is due to geography/topology.

We have always found Mogan in Gran Canaria to be the warmest area at Christmas.
