We're planning on booking Resilient for September, having done Valiant in 2022, and Scarlet in 2021.

Its definitely different with VV. Apparently Resilient is going to have notable differences to Scarlet and Valiant, so it will be interesting to hear what those are!

When is the MerMaiden Voyage? Is that out of Athens?
Yep, sailing from Athens in mid-May. When we booked, it was the second cruise for her but within a few weeks, it had changed to the MerMaiden trip, so they must still have been faffing around with the itineraries.

Very excited after 2 years of cancellations and pushbacks we are going on our first ever cruise in just over 2 months. Sailing around the Caribbean on the Evmira from Ritz Carlton, as is was cancelled so often they gave us 40% off which was nice biggrin

Please let us know how that goes. We’ve done a lot of cruising on Seabourn. Ritz Carlton look like the competition.

Joining Iona on Saturday, family and parents.
Will be a bit strange as I used to work for P&O as an engineer on Britannia.

Enjoyed our first cruise last year with a few nights on the Queen Victoria. Cunard have a 7 night cruise to the Norwegian Fjords that looks really good and works well date wise, just need to get it booked

Please let us know what you think.

I'm onboard at the moment and I'm sure its badly understaffed.

5th time on here, and very poor compared to previous trips sadly.

Parents were on Iona in late November/early December cruising the Med and Canaries, third time I think on that, but have been on numerous P&O cruises before and they didn't mention anything different.

We were on at the end of October and beginning of November with a pretty full ship and didn't notice any issues. Looking forward to being back on iona in February.

I do like the breakfast options on P&O ships.
I’m not allowed things like fried bread at home, because my wife is a fitness fanatic.

It's my first time seeing it from the other side, so quite excited to not have to worry about being back onboard for my shift to start. Or being slightly tipsy (Carribbean rum punch)!

I've never traveled on a ship as a passenger (ferries aside) since I started working on them. I bet it is really weird.

I did as my ex's travel partner once, but it's not the same... Officers mess and bar every night is very different to Brodie's!

Booked our first cruise today - Fjords with P&O Iona late in May.

Looks good and wife is excited. smile

Got straight onto looking at the available post booking extras and was admittedly a little surprised to see that a soft drinks package was a paid extra at £20/day PP?
I’m not really an alcohol drinker so wouldn’t be paying for the full drinks pack but now need to look to add the soft drinks - is it best to add this in advance or might it be cheaper to just PAYG?

I did the fjords on the QV back in 2016. Was a great trip. Heading to the arctic circle on it in November this year. It’s probably my favourite of the Cunard ships.

I originally posted this in the 2022 thread by mistake.

Sadly (at least for me) there seems to be a return to compulsory mask wearing on some lines. I don’t want to start yet another mask debate over here but please aware that this can happen. The letter below was sent by Seabourn to cruisers booked on the World Voyage. For me and Mrs BC masks would be a deal breaker but they can be imposed when it’s too late to cancel or already onboard.

We just payg as the drinks are reasonably priced and the drinks packages are expensive. You can still buy the package on day 2 of the cruise should you wish but that's the last day it's possible to buy it.

Hmm...

That would not be good.

Having said that, theres fundamentals simply not being followed. On the three cruise lines we did last year, there was no insistance in hand sanitising, and quite a few of the hand sanitisers had either been removed or werent working.

People werent particularly bothering to go do it either.

Many people seem to be quite happy to cough in confined public spaces too without bothering to cover their mouth in any way.

Also, there were people we saw who clearly had "something" - whether that be it a really bad cold or Covid and hadnt bothered testing who were out and about the ship, and sitting in close proximity public areas.

We were on Iona at October half term. Liked the cabin but didn’t like the ship. Much prefer Britannia. Iona was badly understaffed and general ambiance lacking.
