Email from HMPO
Thank you for your enquiry regarding your old passport.

I can see that on Royal Mail’s website the passport is showing as delivered to us. However, I have spoken to our post room and they have stated that although the item appears to have been delivered here, our office cannot locate it.

So that we can move forward with the application, can you please report the old passport as lost?

You can do so by using this link:

THEY LOST IT - I HAVE TO REPORT IT LOST!

Applied last Friday (17 March) evening for renewal of other half and 11 year old daughters passports. Sent old passports back Monday morning, had emails Friday and yesterday to say they've been approved and printed, just waiting for dispatch. Pretty impressed as long as they turn up lol. They both expire in October and we need them for August, would have left it a little longer but as soon as heard about the strikes we got the apps in.

A friend had an appt at the Durham office this morning for a fast-track child renewal - he's been assured it will delivered before Monday 3rd April - he's supposed to go away on the 4th so hopefully they keep to their word (as they are on strike from the 3rd too for 5weeks)

Applied on line 11/02, got the new one 01/03. This included taking a week for my old passport to be delivered after posting it.

My son's child renewal has just come back in 10 days from application to delivery as well. We lost a day due to our person confirming taking a day to do it.

Update on this, ours arrived yesterday, so seeing as we applied about 7pm on Friday 17 March, 12 days including that day from start to finish is pretty impressive :-)

Also just had this, I was getting a little concerned as my kids passport renewals went through like clockwork, but mine was dragging on a bit.

For completeness on this - the appointment was 0830 Monday 27th March and the passport dropped through his door at lunchtime 29th March - not bad at all!

Just had a txt from TNT saying they could not post my passport as I was out.

This morning TNT delivered FGess' passport straight to the letter box. Which is exactly what they are supposed to do:

TNT said:
For the majority of passport deliveries, if you have a letterbox that allows us to post directly into your property we can deliver even if you are not at home.
We do have such as FGess' was put there this morning. Odd.

I sent two off this week - Adult renewal on Monday, Child renewal on Tuesday 21st.

Both old passports have beeen updated as "received" so now just need to wait to see when they go to the printers. I'll update here as the status changes.
First one came back early this week.
Second one (needed another photo to be taken) has just been sent to the printers and should be here early next week.

They're still saying allow up to ten weeks, but I just renewed mine and it took ten days from submission to the new one arriving. Service seems ok at the moment.
