Black Crows Black Friday sale
Has some pretty decent offers. I've been looking for an insulated shell/resort jacket and was leaning to Helly Hansen Alpha LifaLoft which is really highly rated and reviewed. The Black Crows jacket is at 60% off RRP and less than half the best price that I could find for the Helly jacket so couldn't resist.
If you're after an all mountain charging ski the big pink one (Corvus) at less than £400 is a decent price. Team with some Salomon/Atomic Shifts and you have a really versatile package.
Thanks for that, picked up a few bits. Black Crows Black Friday sale

Andbus are great. As long as you book it, they will take you very close to your accommodation anywhere in the country. They are also really flexible, so if you are delayed, or arrive early for some reason, they will get you on another bus if they have space - just call them, they speak English.
Ideal, bus leaves 45 mins after we land so we've booked the later one just in case. If we make it they might let us on the early oneLooks like we're in for a 2 week high pressure spell here in the Alps. Possibly a bit of snow this week but nothing crazy.
Still staying reasonably cold but early resort openings will be piste skiing only. I tend to not keep too close an eye on the weather models more than 4/5 days out as it all can change so quickly. So maybe next week I'll be sending a message that I've just been skiing balls deep powder.

Just booked a week in Jan at La Lavachet, Tignes. Cant wait.
Any recommendations for private airport transfers for 5 of us from Chambery airport?
I'm taking my 2 boys to Tignes Val Claret in Feb HT. We're flying in to Grenoble. Transfers with Ben's Bus. I'm pretty sure they do transfers from Chambery too. By far the best price I could find and having used them before I'm more than happy to reccommend them, albeit shared, not private transferAny recommendations for private airport transfers for 5 of us from Chambery airport?

We used Snowdrone last year, GVA to Val D'Isere and would highly recommend if budget isn't your main concern. Quick check of the website suggests they cover Chambery too. Not the cheapest, but genuinely door to door (they'd have driven up the stairs inside our chalet if they could!), nice helpful drivers and even had tablets with Wi-Fi and streaming services for our kids.Any recommendations for private airport transfers for 5 of us from Chambery airport?

He doesn't actually do the transfers anymore but acts as a booking agent - but he knows all the providers locally so can probably get you something.
Enjoy Miniman - can’t wait to take my kids skiing (they’re almost 3..). Speaking of Pyrénées, I have only ever skied the alps, and have some work reasons to be in Pau a time or two during the winter - do you have any recommendations accessible from there? Public transport a bonus.. thanks.

I’ve only ever done it once before, years ago in Les Angles which was nice. We’re doing NY in Cauterets this as a return to the slopes for the first time in a decade with kids. Mine are 7 and 11. Cauterets was recommended from my brother (whose joining us) as excellent for a beginner family town, it’s a small ski area but snowfall is supposed to be reliable and there’s plenty to do in the town too. It’s a town with slopes up a cable car rather than a ski area with a town next door.
I guess we’ll see!

Thanks Tim. Competitive quote received. Assume you have used before? Can't find many recent reviews, so just checking. After all, it is scam week on the BBC He doesn't actually do the transfers anymore but acts as a booking agent - but he knows all the providers locally so can probably get you something.

New board is a Salomon Super 8 Pro, I'm mid-50's, started boarding in the mid 90's. Too old to shred on a pipe or park jumps so the new board is directional, stiffer with more float, chosen specifically for fast on piste carving and off piste deep powder
I have a 2021 Salomon Super 8 and I can safely say it's the best snowboard I've ever owned. Absolutely brilliant for hooning down groomers and I've taken it into some deep off piste. I've never been in any situation where I wished I was on something more floaty or stable at high speed. An utterly brilliant board, you will love it.wrencho said:

Thanks for the reply and glowing endorsement Originally had my eye on a Burton Custom Flying V but a very helpful sales chap in Tokyo convinced me to go with Salomon
My old board and I were one on the slopes, never had to think about what I was doing, hope my new board gives me the same feeling
