Lawrence of Arabia featured on the motorbike show hosted by Henry Cole riding a Borough Superior SS100 and pranged the bike in the rain without wearing a crash helmet so the story goes and didn't recover from his injuries

He lost control and swerved to miss two delivery cyclists , I met the brother of one of them its well documented several of his bikes returned to his cottage at clouds hill
