He wasn't a sauerkraut though. Good German Market, Brum, heavily biased to beer and sausage, and that's pretty much all that's needed

It was Dishoom. Very tasty. Started the day 2 doors down in Albert Schloss. Pilsner Urquell was excellent.

I've not been to the Schloss in Birmingham, but the one on The Strand was surprisingly excellent when we went over summer. Nest run restaurant I've been in for a long time, and as you say, great beer, but too many to try at one family meal without disgrace

Been twice (to Birmingham).

First time was very nice - posh curry.
Second time (lunch) was disappointing - don't think they knew what they were supposed to be doing and provided a sloppy mess of a side dish and an overdone, dry, crunchy wrap as a main.
