Maybe try kazhakstan
I wouldn't bother.... it's cold, flat & barren........ I've been here for while.... biggrin

The Caspian is frozen over, the Aral sea has dried up, part of the country was the Russians nuclear bomb testing facility, it's windy & making it feel like 20 below at present.

A nice spring or early summer day in Almaty can be pleasant & the beer is cheap.

Pedantry alert: why are some people listing the UK when they appear to live here?
UK is made up of a number of countries, a lot of people I know have never been to Scotland or NI.
Sorry, I should have been more specific: they are listing one of the home nations as a place they have visited when it is where they live. At the risk of going down the path to insanity, how is "country" defined for this thread? I don't need to go through Customs or Passport Control to get into Wales or Scotland, yet both have their own rugby teams. I do (for reasons of practicality (id for the ferry or plane) need a passport to get into NI. NI doesn't have its own rugby team. Come the Olympics, the team is GB & NI. Gibraltar voted in the EU referendum.

I may need to have a lie down.
Why not go with the UN Member States - it's a list of countries as generally defined by most of the other countries.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Member_states_of_the...

Then it's just the UK and we don't quibble on what's in or out!

I make it 52.
My rules are that stepping over a border counts but changing planes at an airport does not, unless you leave the airport.

51 in total. Most of then have been whilst on business, so I haven't really seen that much of them frown
Only 7 more to add from 2016, but many repeat trips to others. I managed to take 56 Long Haul flights and spend 92 nights abroad last year yikes This year will be busier..!
I added a few more this year, namely:

Japan
India
Indonesia
Singapore

So, that makes 62 in total.

Many of my visits are just 1 night stopovers where I land, take a car to the hotel, sleep, meet my client, take a car back to the airport and go on to the next place. I rarely get to stop anywhere for a length of time.

Will add the US this year with a trip to NYC and hopefully at least one other minimum.

Decided now at 31 to make it my mission to visit at least one new country each year for the foreseeable future.
Added the US and Hungary this year as expected.

That’s 19 if we count the home countries individually, still pretty poor.

But I’m currently on track to keep to my 1 new country/year requirement by having a long weekend booked to Krakow in May. Hoping to tick off Iceland in 2019 too.

Did a few this year so currently have 11

UK
Isle of Man
Spain
Portugal
Belgium
Germany
Poland
Czech Republic
Lithuania
USA
Japan

Spain for example I've been too probably a dozen times, on family holidays as kid so seen mainland, coastal, balearics etc..

But since I've been solo travelling I try to just hop around Europe and see as many cities as possible, managing to do 2 or 3 per year and not repeating any locations too much.

I'm looking into doing more of a 'backpacking' type trip next year so would probably be able to hit 3 or more countries in a row

I clearly have some catching up to do.

UK
France
Italy
Spain
Switzerland
Germany
Austria
Greece
Turkey
Croatia
Slovenia
Ireland
Russia
The Netherlands
Trinidad and Tobago
Canada
USA (New York, Seattle, California)

That's 17, and I'm 22.
Well in the 3.5 years since I wrote that I can add 6 more to the list:
St Lucia
Barbados
Grenada
UAE (Dubai)
Hong Kong
Jordan

So up to 23, but I've got a bit older too...
Another year, and I can add:
- Kenya
- South Africa
- Vietnam
- Malaysia
- Belgium
- Portugal

Up to 29.
One year on, and this year I can add to the list:
- Zambia
- Zimbabwe
- Saudi Arabia

Up to 32.

Slightly disappointed that it's only 3 new countries, despite 95 flights. Theoretically could add Qatar and Bahrain, but that was only transiting through. I didn't even make it to the USA once this year.
Another year, another 2 new countries, so now up to 34.
- Malta
- Egypt

Have one more new one planned for 2019 already (Singapore)

No real plans for 2020 yet, but I think it will be less than 7 new ones next time!

Aged 53 coming on 54.

Must be pushing 80 countries, many of them multi visit (and ignoring day business trips, Vatican City and San Marino, and stop-overs/refuels). Probably got a head start as a son of Empire with a father who preferred taking home leaves by ship or overland.

UK (live there half the year)
Republic of Ireland
Norway (multiple + lived there for a year)
Sweden (multiple)
Finland
Denmark
Germany (multiple)

Spain
Andorra (stayed a week)
Portugal
Malta
Greece (multiple)

Egypt
Tunisia

Kenya (lived there for eight years)
Uganda
Rwanda
Burundi
Sudan (incl S Sudan)
Ethiopia
Somalia

Two years or so on, although several repeats of countries above (in Western Europe), only one new one to the tally:

Sadly, I had to cancel my long-planned trip to Japan for the RWC because I was ill.

According to my ‘Been’ app I’m up to 98 countries now.

There are quite a few more that I’ve set foot in but my requirement for ticking the box has always been ‘a beer and a poo’.
