I can't actually the truth is 3 pints and i'm wasted.

But i often hear the boast the someone can drink ten pints and still be sober.

I don't understand why i am meant to be impressed by this as it just means they have to spend alot more money in the pub and will probably be needing a new liver before they are 40.

So am i the only one that on hearing the boast of "I can drink ten mights and still be sober" that thinks to themselves, you poor bugger that must be terrible.

I like not being able to hold my drink its far cheaper and i don't end up covered in my own vomit in a police cell.

Hows the weather in the beer garden this fine afternoon?

Sounds like you may be four pints in.

I used to go through half a bottle of vodka, beers and shots before heading out then be on beers/vodka/shots the whole night and occassionally didn't feel like I was drunk.

Now 2 beers at home get me tipsy.

Aged 18ish vs age 26

I have a fairly strong immunity to alcohol (probably due to be being a bat fastard powerfully built). I can only be a bit tipsy, when everyone else is hammered. It's not all it's cracked up to be, it costs a bomb and you end up looking after all the lightweights.

I used to have a massive tolerance to vodka / pints etc.
Well not massive but i could go through half a bottle (1l) of vodka before a night out & some beers & i'd barely even feel tipsy.
I stopped drinking for 4 months & now after that amount i'm a mess.
I proved i can't drink 10 pints & be sober whilst at the beer festival this weekned.
I was extreemly pissed!

Generally tee-total due to perceived alcohol intolerance, but the last couple of weekends I've had a couple.

Saturday night just gone, had a pint of vodka & coke before heading out, and a can of bread/piss water (Carling) in the car and was defo 'drunk'.

Cheap as chips =D

I think the truth is they might think they're still sober, but actually, you should ask an independent non-drinking bystander for their opinion wink

I have a pretty high tolerance to alcohol, I'm stil young (ish) and like a good drink. I like beer and can drink 3-4 pints. After that I feel too bloated and have to move onto spirits.

Varies hugely between drinks and nights for me. Sometimes on 3 pints of cider (can't stand beer paperbag) I'll be gone, other times I'll end up having 8 or 9 and still be alright. When I was (embarrasingly) younger I could drink fairly ridiculous amounts of whiskey, especially given my age. Can't any more, which is probably a good thing smile

I can drink carling all night and be fine however shortly after opening a 2nd bottle of wine* I have been known to launch in to the "guess the body part" game with the Mrs and a camera phone**.

*Wine and lager are not consumed on the same night
**Women don't tend to find these games as funny as a pissed bloke

with you on that one,

some nights, if i'm not really in the mood, very little and i'm anyones, other nights i smash it back all night long and go home 'feeling' sober enough to drive (obviously i don't drive, merely wishing to illustrate the point that i feel 100%)

There is a 50 odd year old farmer that goes into my local pub. He drinks, and I get you not, 12 - 15 pints of guiness in one session. I have only ever seen him drunk once in all the time I have being going in there and that was a Sunday afternoon/Sunday night session.

I on the other hand can only drink about 4/5 pints in a night before I feel pissed and bloated.

I was veering towards doorways on Saturday after only 2 pints.

My username is quite possibly inappropriate. Or ironic.

10 pints is getting near my limit for feeling too bloated, not exactly sober after I drink that much but far from out of it.
Usually were it goes wrong for me is after the shots start, normally a couple of hours thinking I'm far too sober. Followed by the next couple of hours convinced somebody changed the tendons in my legs into elastic bands hehe

Bertie Ahern, the ex Irish PM, famously remarked in an interview years previous to becoming PM that he could safely drive home on 5 or 6 pints of Bass I think it was. What a gobste.

I've never drank as much as ten pints before, nor would I attempt to! 4-5 pints is my limit before I switch over to spirits.
