Perhaps then this thread will proceed along more civil lines.
Quite frankly, this thread is pretty boring now and the only thing still interesting about it was the banter and/or discussion on peoples' posts. Since neither are seemingly allowable, I'll leave you to your thread and have no further part in it. Have fun and enjoy it.
When I lose interest in a thread, I tend not to bother posting in it or reading it at all. I suppose I could try to make the boring thread more interesting by posting 'stimulating' responses to the people who are using it for its intended purpose, that should liven it up a bit smile

Your post fails on the very first sentence. Which is hardly surprising considering the bullst I've seen you write on other threads, and the fact that you are banned from at least one.

.
Laugh.
Of course.
In 10 years I have been banned from exactly one thread for arguing with...drumrolll....

I know what I am like, SC, and hence that thread and our interchanges I happily wrote of as a clash.
And then I see you do it on thread after thread.
JohnRB is the least argumentative person on PH yet you even manage to make his blood pressure rise.
ANyway, bothered.

Every other poster thinks it is you who is the root of all these problems.
You, on teh other hand, think it is everyone else and this is exactly why this conversation is a non-starter.

I notice you like to be one of the pack, not to lead it, BTW

Strange that you would exhibit such cowardly behaviour

biglaugh At least I used to credit you with a reasoned and rational arguing stance. I think you've tipped over the edge somewhat.
Anyway, quote this and have the last word will you?

Thanks. That last word will be to suggest that you too use this thread for its intended purpose. I don't think you've subjected any of your annoyances to the self-appointed arbiters of validity yet, have you? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think everything you've posted since you discovered this thread has been reactions to what others have said.

It annoys me, mildly, when I see that someone has posted on a serious thread merely to crack a joke of some kind, especially if my 'net is running slow or the PH site is playing up and it's taken me a while to view the updated thread. Because of that annoyance, I don't think it would be right to draw attention, on such a thread to a really funny mixed metaphor that someone has posted quite unwittingly. The fact that, by my own rules of annoyance, I can't do that annoys me.

It's a shame, as this one was a beauty.

Not burke but berk.

Rhyming slang.

Abbreviation of Berkeley Hunt.

As you were.

I can see that, and will only add that it doesn't, of course, actually rhyme with the normal pronunciation of Berkeley smile.
