how much :splutter: FROM £8.40 - so is that price just for little wheels or something? That's crazy expensive isn't it? My local guy charges £3 per wheel or nothing if you're buying tyres or puncture repair.
Do note they're not monkeys on £35 a day.

Never heard of this! none out my ways is it a makro type thing?
Similar. I used to deal with both and I'd say Costco looks much better. They seem to take more care of the products there.
Makro can look like a Primark to Costco's Waitrose in a way.

Has anyone used them for tyres?

Will they order in a specific tyre for you or is it just whatever they have in stock?

They will order, but they only deal in Michelin.... When I checked out the price for my motorhome, a local place beat Costco by £25 per tyre, and as I was buying 5.... They got the business smile

To be fair, Costco did say they'd price match, but as the local guy gave me his best price off the bat, that's where I went, and yes, they were like for like, as in brand new stocksmile

Costco's tyres are expensive, I think the pizza is full of oil but you can buy a large hot dog and drink for £1.50. The meat is great and if you have space buy stuff that will not go off, bog rolls, washing stuff, shampoos etc, all much cheaper than Tesco etc. When I am making a large purchase I normally check Costco to see if they have it and if so it will almost always be cheaper. They have a car trolley jack too.

I have to disagree on the Pizza, we had one of the large square fresh ones with chicken, peppers etc and there was no oil really at all and it was clearly made with good quality ingredients.

Yes I think the 3t Trolley Jack was £60 or £70 I think, looked very substantial.

I like it for the Mobil 1 which is cheap as chips, and I buy my turtle wax car shampoo in 25 litre drums for about £13.

And lets not forget the PH friendly nice big car parking spaces smile

They are - I got one. Very wide and stable and only about 8cm tall so can get under my SL with the suspension on low.

Has anyone here gone into Costco, and only bought what they wanted?

I find I buy things I never knew existed or needed....

All food packs are really huge - great for large families. Their cakes are so cheap... apparently loss leaders.

I got a free membership offer, so went along. Don't think I'll renew, charging for entry is taking the piss and prices aren't all that good.

Back to Makro it is, then.

I have to say a fair few of the prices were pretty cheap and I was using ShopSavvy on my phone on the way round and I can honestly say with a degree of certainty I have saved the cost of my membership on the first trip. Not sure how that would compare to Makro in fairness but I am a happy bunny.

Oh look... I used to work for a school... Apparently that means I can register... I'm also a Chartered Engineer (but probably not of the sort they want).

Do it Switch... there are some real discounts to be had... some from our trip today, 24 pack of diet coke was £5 and change, 12 pack of San Pellegrino for £7 and change, Cloudy Bay £15 a bottle, Faustinio 1 <£10 a bottle, Napolina Tomato Puree equivalent of 45p a tube, Peroni 24 pack was around £17.

All seemed good value to me.
