Wow, I'm guessing you must be at least 150 years old then.

Well done for using the Internet old chap.

Not necessarily stupid, but there's the American fashion for what are basically surnames as first names (Turner, Johnson, Clarke)...
Jackson is another one. I had a brief conversation with someone I went to college with. Rich kid who thought she was nobility the way she behaved but was essentially a bit of a chav.

Named her kid Jackson or Jacks/Jax for short.

Might be original if it wasn't blatantly because she'd been watching Sons of Anarchy!

What's with the h? Were you torn between Hannah and Susanna?

You realise she's going to have to say "no, with an H" on average 2.6 times a day for her entire working life? That her email will bounce 90% of the time what she tells someone what it is? You're a mean parent. =)

Ha true. My Grandma was called Louise Susannah so we've named her after her (Susannah Louise).

I'm Phillip with 2 L's so you can imagine I have multiple email aliases at work to catch everything)

The more traditional names seem to be making a come back (at least around our way).

My old Uni teacher was called Aubrey. Great name.
Chief executive of my local council is Aubrey Fawcett. Sounds very American but looks very 'civil servant'.

My wife works in some less salubrious schools. My favourite so far...

Pocahontas.

Pocahontas McGlatchie.

My grandma (born 1892) was Elsie, I don't think it's a stupid name, but it does seem a bit dated, although my 95 yr old auntie hated Amy and changed it and then in the last 20 years it's become popular again.

I read that as 1982 and was heading straight for the council thread with it.

The only Elsie I've ever known is in her 40's & looks like a proper inbred redneck, as stoopid as one too.

Every time I hear the name Jackson, I sing 'Mississippi' in my head.

Heard the name 'Jeronimo' today. Very brave of the parents...
