Has anyone else tried these?
I bought a Nicolites starter kit on a recomendation and I am very impressed. It gives the nicotine hit in the same way that a normal cigarette does but apparently none of the dangerous cancer ste.

I only smoke when I drink and so far this weekend I have only had 6 real cigs and that is cause I did not charge the battery on the E-cig. Usually I would have done 30 ish real cigs on a weekend.

The rest of the time I have been puffing away on this very realistic fake cigarette.

Is it too good to be true? Is it going to cause hair or bum cancer at a later date?

If they are as safe as they are supposed to be, what is the future? E-Spliff, E-Crack?

Bought one a couple of weeks ago, great job, reduced consumption of the real thing to less than a third.
It's great being able to have a puff in work at the desk and still get up every hour to go for a smoke break smile

Yep. switched to them about 2 months ago just before the buggers put cigarette tax up again.

Not looked back. Have upgraded my e-cig a couple of times to get a really good amount of vapour and as above I now 'smoke' at my desk and don't bother with going out in the rain anymore.

Saving me a fortune as well smile

To many positives and not enough negatives to switch back to real cigs.

I'm still on the real cigs. Smoking e-cigs at your desk in our place is frowned upon by the non smoking majority for exposing them to nasty nicotine in the vapour. So us hardened smokers are now joined by the e-cig brigade outside in the rain..

The problem with these things is that they are not regulated. You don't actually know what you're inhaling.

Also, the nicotine is a major carcinogen in cigarettes so you're still getting some of the bad st.

Here's a video that talks about them:

I'm on them as well. I bought a Riva 1100 kit as I was getting through 75 to 100 grammes of golden virginia a week. It wasn't because it was expensive to smoke just the fact I was coughing my arse up every day. The kit had to be picked up from the post office so I had 2 cigs before picking it up and haven't smoked since.
I started on the 30mg strength liquids and now I've moved down to 10mg and will then try the zero nicotine stuff with a view to stopping completely. Been 4 months so far and I still get the odd urge for a real cig but it's easily ignored.

That video may be using old data as it states that the Nicotine hit takes 30 minutes to be felt with the E-cigs that he tested.

I can promise you thst it takes 1-3 seconds with the E-cig I am using.

Was on them when I quit a couple of years ago. Loved them. Unfortunately I left it on a plane and after 18 months of abstinence the Marlboro reds crept back in.

What kit is everyone using these days? I'd like to give them another bash.

But it's the same process; the same absorption route. Maybe you're getting some sort of placebo effect. He didn't personally test the e-cigs but was reporting what medical tests shown (and these tests weren't going on what people 'felt' but what blood tests actually showed).

If you actually watch it and listen to it, it says nothing of substance. It's all innuedo and supposition. My distinct impression when watching it was that it had been sponsored by the cigarette companies. smile

Oh, and of course nicotene is such a 'major carcinogen' that it's used in all the cigarette quitting goods being sold at exhorbitant prices. Do you see any warnings on the packaging for Nicorettes, for example, saying that they are carcenogic? No? That's because in cigarettes the carcogens are in the burning plant matter and chemicals. Not the nicotene.

It depends on personal preference I suppose. Some like the ones that look like cigarettes and others the pen/wand type ones. I use a Riva 1100 kit which comes with two battereies and cartomisers for the juice/liquid (on arctic cherry/menthol as any tobacco type juice tastes like crap to me now) The ego kit is supposed to be similar to the riva I've not had one though so can't comment on it.
There are plenty of forums for them though such as:-

http://www.allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/inde...

http://ukvapers.com/

Plenty of info regarding what's what etc.

Maybe it is the same absorbstion rate but In my limited experience I can promise you that I am now 2 bottles of white wine down, just starting on a can of Strongbow and I am happy to puff on this fake cigarette. It feels 90 percent real.

I never wish for a fag normally but after after my first drink ( only at weekends ) I always long for a drag on a cigarette and easily do 30 real cigs in a weekend. Hopefully this will be an end to it and eventualy lead to me being smoke and fake skoke free.

Ah, the trick it to learn to be subtle about it. I can 'vape' at my desk with barely any sign of it to others. Unlike cigarette smoke, vapour from e-cigs dissapates in a few seconds. Take a puff, keep it down for a few seconds, and then slowly blow the remaining vapour downwards. It's gone before anyone sees it.

I even do it meetings and no-one has complained yet, although I have had a few comments whne I've forgotten where I am. smile

Looks like tomatoes are carcinogenic as they also contain nicotine smile

This is the one I use (not the pink one biggrin )

Well I started on one of the cheap starte kits that looks and acts like a real cig. This was fine but after a week I wanted something with a bit more vapour and something a bit more consistent. So I upgraded to a EGO-T kit from www.libertyflights.com. THis were much better but then I wanted something that could last a full day without dicking around re-filling so bought a new tip with a plastic tank that can hold enough fluid for a whole day.

Thing is it's all very, very confusing when you first start and may take a while to work out what you want. Most folk just want the things that look like a cigarette. I did. But what I use now has been referred to as my 'doctor who sonic screw driver'. I don't mind, it's saving me a fortune and getting rid of all that unhealthy st in normal cigs.

Nicotine is about the least harmful substance in cigarette smoke.

It is a poison about the same way caffeine is.

Why anyone would want to encourage anyone to keep using tobacco baffles me, of course they would prefer everyone to go cold turkey....not gonna happen.

This is my latest set-up:

eGo Vision Clearomiser, raspberry flavour nicotine juice, eGo battery.

Indeed, that whole video is laughably biased against e-cigs.

If I get that craving for a puff, like when the OH is smoking a real cig, I have a couple of puffs on the e-cig and the desire to have a real cig is gone within seconds.

I sounds like a right E-cigs campaigner, but they've worked for me and I genuinely believe they are on the brink of being really big as the price of real cigs is getting to the point of being ridiculous.

My greatest fear is that the government will then start to try and regulate it so it can tax it. Which probably explains some of the purpose of the video.
