They look very stiff.

I have the ordinary Grenson Freds and they're not too stiff, they soon break in.

I've got the same. Love them.
+1 Prestburys ? Also have Bedale boots in tan calf, fabulous shoes.
Just out of interest which Loake wax do you use, the clear one or the tan one?

Ex FiL was a shoe repairer, he used to recommend creams over waxes.

Just ordered these, Joseph Cheaney. My first pair of two tone brogues, will be interesting to see how they look IRL.

I consider myself more of a drug dealer than a pimp tbh. smile

Not that it appears to cause you any concern g3org3y smile, but I'd take the comment as a sign you'd made a good purchase.

Thanks Goaty Bill, I'm very happy with them. smile

Arrived today:

I've also located some brown suede Joseph Cheaney derby shoes. Unfortunately they are an 8.5 (I'm a 9), we'll see how they go. Worst comes to worst, I'll return them smile

Why on earth would you knowingly buy shoes in the wrong size?

If it's half a size they could actually fit better than the size you think you are. Or worse. Could go either way. Depends on shoe.

This is true. I bought some Grensons over the summer which are a full size smaller than I normally wear. The "correct" size were like canoes.

They didn't have 9s in stock.

For half a size, worth a punt. If they fit ok - great, if not - they get returned.

Beggars can't be choosers. frown

The shoe may be on a different last and that alone can alter the shape of the shoe sufficiently to require a different size. With the option of free returns it seems a fairly risk free purchase.
