Related subject: merino socks. Any recommendations? I've got some Falke ones but never got on with them, the seam always felt annoyingly positioned.
Wolsey / Morley ?
It was explained some months back, that one had acquired the other, and Wolsey socks seemed to disappear, but they seem to be sold under both names now.
I never find the website(s) terribly useful and always buy mine in the shops, but I've been buying / wearing them for years when just wanting a solid colour, in wool, for reasonable money.
'Gentlemen's Outfitters' types would be the most likely outlets.

I would recommend avoiding all previously posted advice regarding achieving a high gloss finish to the toe, and consider visiting your local nail bar as a viable alternative.

You should also report yourself immediately to the council thread for being in possession of a television of those dimensions biggrin

You're all just lucky I didn't have a black toenail for this one.

I thought 32 inches was the preferred dimension for those who did not wish to appear Council hehe

Still more stylish than these.

Personally, I'll withhold judgement until you have returned from the nail bar, and submitted a photo of the results.

What have you managed to do to your leg/ankle by the way? Quite a substantial support there

I was wearing the wrong shoes for the conditions hehe

5.5kms into a trail half marathon, downhill section along a dry watercourse. Wearing my lightweight Ons instead of my sturdier Mizuno, getting some decent rhythm going, trod on a piece of what I though was sturdy sandstone, crumbled, rolled onto my ankle. The 3 people in front of me heard the crack.

Walked the 1.6km out to the aid station. That was painful.

ow. good luck with healing. have my own (much less severe) ankle injury and it's taken AAAGGGEEEES to get back to anything near full running.

In 1990 a pair of Timberland boots was £120.Today they ae £110. That should tell you something.

I don't think they're too bad. I had a pair which lasted well and were comfortable.
Not too inspired with the range the last time I checked though so not bought since.

I always thought their boots were meant to be good. Recently spotted their other stuff and quite like the look of some of it.

I need some everyday chukka type boots that aren't smart but not too casual either.

I’ve had plenty over the years. Last time I bought from timberland directly and had to return them because they didn’t even stand up straight. I would possibly buy them again but they are not as good as they once were. Also they might be a bit passé.

I had some timberland “earth keepers” or some such a while back and they were poor.

To be honest at the price they are probably good value.
