I think it was 1992 or 93 when I was sick the morning of my first day back to school. Thinking I was lying or that it was nerves, my parents packed me off with a dose of MTFU... at 20.30 that evening my appendix burst whilst waiting for tests in hospital.
And did they treat you differently afterwards? Did they a) say they regretted their handling of the incident or b) treat your maladies more seriously from then on?I'm going with NO on both counts.
It's what parents do.

When The Wife was about 7, she fell over and complained about the pain in her arm. After 2 days of being told to MTFU they took her in to A&E only for an xray to show a broken arm. DickyC said:

No change really, but I did get a couple of years of ammo if I really needed to use it. I'm going with NO on both counts.

If I can persuade sonic to get involved Silverstone is actually feasible for me so I've stuck my name down EvoDelta said:

Mine left me for nore than 24 hrs with a dislocated ankle, dislocated knee, and fractured tibia and fibula. It was only when I really couldn't walk despite strong verbal encouragement that they took me to A & E.
Recently, my mother had a bit of arthritis in her toe and said 'You can't imagine the pain I'm in, Carthage'...

Ferrari?Spit.
I'm actually working, otherwise it would have been an interesting display of an internal struggle between morals and a good, free day out for the family.
