I have to say, since the First Nerf War, I have been spending an inappropriate amount of time looking at Nerf guns. Three more packages arrived yesterday from Argos. Supposedly they are Christmas presents. It will be a struggle to leave them unopened smile

Well, that went well smile

Got in, gave them the guns and darts and they were over the moon! As they were opening them my eldest said "Dad, you should've bought one for yourself"

I then pulled out the pre-cocked Nerf from my pocket, shot him at near point-blank range and replied "I did!" shootbiggrin
Genius.

Whenever I go to visit my wife's family, her cousins (who are much much younger) have a large amount of ordnance from Nerf and I really should remember this top tip to win at Nerf War!

Had a nice nerf battle with the kids and GF yesterday

Oldest one can opperate pretty much any blaster (she's 5), youngest one just like scavenging for darts and such, at some point she was sitting in no-man's land with her colouring work with darts flying overhead completely undisturbed biggrin

If the damn things werent so expensive i'd be expanding my arsenal at a decent rate shoot

Probably been mentioned before but I did like the video I watched of a girl in Germany who had fixed the XBox or Playstation camera to her Nerf Gun which was mounted on a rotating armature with servos etc on it. She had also ramped up the spring power of the gun to be stronger and reload faster.

The whole thing then had a motion sensor on it so that it would track and fire at any moving object in front of it, like a sentry gun, but if she put on a blue t-shirt, she would remain safe.

Very, very clever and cool.

Automated nerf turrets have been around for years, but damned if they arent very cool! And modern stereo cameras like the PS-eye and Kinect now offer depth perception and better object recognition.

As I've been spending far too much time looking at Nerf blasters in the past couple!e of days, I noticed that the various reviews online split into two categories.

e.g.

Type 1.

I bought this for my son/daughter and they've had so much fun etc.

Type 2.

I needed to buy this as I was getting outgunned in the office Nerf warfare. Not any more!

You can spend quite a lot of time (and money!) here too.

Orange mod works
Nerf mods
Blasterparts

Obviously only upgrade your own weapon, not your kid's ones; you need that tactical edgeshoot
