lmfao 200fps on a nerf gun? That is mental hehe (considering the slug must weigh quite a bit!)

anyone care to weigh a number 6 slug? would love to compare that nerf springer to my airsoft guns for power.... would not be suprised if the nerfs are a lot more powerful!

Standard nerf darts 91g for 36 plus small amount of packaging so say 2.5g each.

My kids love Nerf guns. Our 2 cats, however, are not so keen, as they are the usual victims of the ambush.

2.5g Each? Ouch my bb's are 0.25g each and my gun fires at 300fps which is about 90m/s and 1 joule of energy

so by my rough maths the nerf guns firing at 200fps are 61m/s or 4.62 Joules, that is some amount of power they are shooting with

Until things got out of hand, we used to have some in the office hehe

The N-STRIKE NITE FINDER EX-3 was a favourite

Cheap, easy to remove the air surpressor - which meant increased range and power. The light/laser sight is crap though.

The N-STRIKE JOLT EX-1 Blaster has to get an honourable mention as being a feisty little thing out of the packet. Was known as the "Noisy Cricket" (due to the MIB film) in our place hehe

We had some of the bigger ones, but for fast paced office war, these two are the kings.

Someone bought one. We then had an arms race, and only heads shots counted. It got a bit out of hand and the team was advised they should disappear.

My 11 year old son loves them!

He has a small collection, but pride of place is this bad boy:

He likes to set up a defence point and challenge friends or family to try and over-run his position. Re-loading takes time, but it works well and distance is good.

These are the best two! The bottom one can bloody hurt from a decent distance away too, managed to get my uncle in the gentleman sausage a few times (accidentally I hasten to add) last christmas.

As I said, remove the air suppressor (Google is your friend) for more power biggrin

Had a trip to Argos again for Nerf stuff, apparently if the lad has one we all have to be tooled up. Had to resist the Vulcan at £39 and ended up with 2 strongarms (Maverick replacements) and a CS6 Recon rifle for £25, just waiting on some darts now off Ebay and our house will be a Nerf war zone.

A nerf gun war has started in our office.

It began when some of the team won the "noisey crickets". I had to buy myself a firestrike for £8. I fear this will all get banned rather soon!

Well I called around to a friend's last night to see his new gaff and he decided to crack the back of my head with a nerf gun left over from his house warming.

In a typically measured and mature response, I've endeavored to return at some stage with the Nerfiest of Nerfs and rain a fiery hail of foam darts onto his bruised and stinging skin.

What is recommended? Something easily modded to silly power as discussed would be ideal.

Alpha Trooper or Raider.

The main problem with most nerfs is the small magazines.
Alpha Trooper (Argos only) has an 18 shot mag, and the raider has a 35 shot mag.

Have to say the belt fed one with the tripod is my favorite,
I have one of those. Hilarious.

The sound of the empty belt hitting the floor is always a bad sign, it means everyone else is going to stop hiding and start shooting back.

I've bought several, but mostly I give them away as presents after I've had a bit of fun with them.

My Son's got a small arsenal of Nerf guns and other brands they take the same darts - he's got a lovely side-by-side 'shotgun' that even pops out little spent cartridges after you've fired it - only two shots of course, so you can lose out in the "died from a lack of shooting back" stakes.

The wife's not so keen though, she hates them whizzing about by her and will spend days finding the darts in various corners of the house after a shoot-out.

Straight out of the box most of the Elite stuff is pretty good, but flywheel blasters you can quite easily up the power either by overvolting or swapping the motors, stick an 18 shot clip in and bang away.

The email has just gone round. This has to be after 5:30pm now as it is distracting.
