Wouldn't worry about it, Landward is like a Scottish Countryfile.

Nick Nairn is a 'celebrity' chef so kind'a well known in Scotland at least. Dougie Vipond is the drummer with Del Amitri (who I like from a nostalgic aspect but as he's the drummer I'd have little to no chance of recognising him in the wild) but the link with Euan is the most tenuous I think having worked in the IT arena with his Brother about 17 years ago.

Pure coincidence they all present on the same parochial TV programme.
I've seen Nick around, lives close to here smile

I was at the ex's brother's house in Shorpe (we lived near there) a few years back and when we arrived, her dad was there and this guy who seemed nice and I had no idea who he was. We chatted, he asked what I did (I told him and we talked about it) and I asked what he did and we chatted a bit about his "job in football" which he didn't elaborate too much on, as I said that "football wasn't my thing".

What I didn't spot at the time (which, in hindsight I can see) was her dad, brother and even she was shaking their heads and facepalming at my overall ignorance to all things local. Her dad is an ex-Shorpe United footballer (and even played with Kevin Keegan) - And the "guy" was the (then) Shorpe United manager - Still can't remember his name even now though hehe
Gonna go for Brian Laws (he's done the job about a hundred times) or possibly Nigel Adkins.
I think it was Brian Laws - the name rings a bell smile

I chatted with my ex yesterday and brought it up - She said I was an idiot (again) and said "Brian something".

My apologies though...

I see him in my work now and then, really pleasant guy to talk to, always has time to chat.

Similarly, My dad spent some time doing work in Gordon Shedden’s house, he said Gordon was very shy but nice enough.

We bumped into Kelvin Fletcher of Emmerdale fame in a beer tent at Le Mans, he was on a freebie courtesy of Ginetta, we spent a good hour having beer and banter with him and his mate, nice bloke, although TV makes him look a lot bigger than he actually is!!

That would be an ecumenical matter.

I once saw Alan Pardew talking on the phone whilst driving.

Jim Carrey once tweeted me. As did Sue Perkins.

I once had to find a microphone for the band Slaves when they were supporting a band in a pub I worked in. Spoke to them at a few gigs over the years but they’re a bit st now. Always really nice though.

Once saw Louis Walsh. Someone with a small child on their shoulders shouted ‘Oi, Louis, what were you doing in my son’s bedroom last night?’.

My girlfriend’s, nan’s neighbours are Gary Barlow’s grandparents or auntie and uncle. Can’t remember which.

My mam has had a pint with the bloke who played Darth Vader (in the suit, not the voice).

Nick Cave flagged me off once, pretty sure anyway.

Ooh, just remembered this one. I once saw Al Murray at the cafe in the Baltic in Newcastle. I had a pastrami bagel, not sure what he had. Gallery was crap.

Having lunch in a restaurant in Sacramento a few years back and Arnold Schwarzenegger came in.
He was CA Governor at the time and came round every table handing out anti-corruption fliers.
I was smiling so much he shuck my hand twice.
Two weeks later on a flight LA to Mexico City found myself sat next to 'Malina' the sleazy woman from 'Total Recall'.Hada good chat about our mutual friend Arnie.

Sat next to Alan Minter on a train up to Crewe once.
I didn't realise until 10 minutes from home.
As he had another local train to catch, I insisted that my Wife collect us and we give him a lift.
He insisted on coming to my home first for a cup of tea.

Can't remember if I've posted this before but I once let Jason Plato out of a junction on the Peartree roundabout. He was driving a Cayenne iirc.

Presumably if I hadn't let him out, his touring car instincts would have kicked in and he would've rammed me off the road.

Oh wow, they’re all coming back to me now.

Once met Brian Cox (scientist) when he was giving a lecture at the college I was at. Didn’t go to the lecture. He was a tt and didn’t have time for anybody. Got a picture though.

Also once had a pint with Carl Barat from The Libertines. Definitely a ball bag. Wanted to talk to him because I was doing something for one of my A-Levels about music or something. Anyway, he’d been playing in my town that night and I said to him something along the lines of ‘yeah, Morrissey played here a couple of years back, lowest point in his career’. Makes me cringe to this day.

I used to run an attended service petrol station on the Somerset / Dorset border.

The actor Julian Sands came in for fuel one day after a day's filming of "The Browning Version" although he is more famous as the doctor in "Arachnophobia".

Serena Scott Thomas also came in one day; that's less surprising as she was born in the nearest village to where the garage was.

Surprised I never bumped into Damon Hill who made frequent trips down to Trent, another local village, to visit the farmer that used to supply my garage with spuds.
